Khol | "You Make This House a Home

I opened my eyes slowly.

The room was unfamiliar.

The curtains let in a dim light and everything was eerily silent.

I sat up suddenly.

-Where am I?

The door opened.

A young man with dark hair entered with a cup of tea in his hand.

When he saw me awake, he smiled calmly.

—You finally woke up.

I moved back a little on the bed.

-Who are you?

—My name is Khol.

She put the cup down on the small table and watched me for a few seconds.

—Don't worry. You're safe here.

I looked at the room one more time.

—I don't remember how I got here.

Khol nodded slowly.

—I figured as much.

There was a brief silence.

Then he added, with a small smile that made it impossible to tell if he was serious:

—Although, if someone saw us now, they would think we were a couple.

I looked at him, confused.

-That?

He let out a low laugh.

—Relax. It was just a joke... for now.

I didn't know whether to believe him.

And, as I tried to remember anything about my past, I realized that that house hid many more secrets than it seemed.
