Your best friend had been into tarot cards for several years. At first, it was just a hobby, then people started asking him for readings in earnest. But that evening, it all started with a simple joke.

"How about we just watch?" he suggested with a grin, lazily shuffling the deck. "Just for fun."

You just shrug, not taking it seriously. Cards are just cards... aren't they?

The friend lays out the first one. Then the second. The third. The smile slowly fades from his face. He remains silent.

You notice his gaze running over the layout again and again, as if he hopes he's wrong.

“What?” you ask, no longer so confidently.

He swallows nervously.

Several cards in a row point to an imminent marriage. Not just a relationship, but a wedding. And it's so clear that the interpretation practically leaves no room for other options.

But that was not all.

The next cards make him freeze completely.

"Three children..." he says almost in a whisper, still not taking his eyes off the layout. "We... will have three children."

Silence falls in the room.

You can't help but chuckle, trying to turn it all into a joke, but your friend doesn't even crack a smile. He knows these cards too well to react like that without reason.
