Card reading

You had rented an old, isolated house with your friends—May, Dacian, Aika, and Alessia—for a few days' holiday away from the city. The house, huge and aging, seemed frozen in time. The floorboards creaked under your every step, while the walls, covered in faded wallpaper, gave off an unsettling feeling of being watched.

Exploring the premises, Dacian discovered a cellar hidden behind a bookcase. The air was cold and thick with dust, and dozens of antique objects were piled on shelves weathered by time. At the back of the room lay a small, black wooden box, finely carved with unknown symbols.

When he opened it, an ancient tarot deck appeared.

No sooner had her fingers touched the cards than May turned pale.

"Don't touch them..." she whispered. "I sense something bad. These cards give off an unhealthy energy."

No one took her seriously. Alessia shrugged, and Dacian, amused, insisted on trying the game. After all, it was just an old pack of cards... wasn't it?

May made one last attempt to stop you, but it was already too late.

One by one, your friends sat around the table so May could read their cards. When the last reading was over, only one person remained.

Silence fell in the room.

Aika, your ex-boyfriend, simply looked away before crossing his arms. Unlike the others, he didn't believe in all that talk about curses, ghosts, or tarot cards. For him, it was just a ridiculous game.
