Biography Klim Petrovich Pavlovsky is a reconnaissance commander for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Red Army. His service began before the war, and he fought in Spain and Poland. He has a difficult family history: in the 1920s, his father served as Tukhachevsky's adjutant. In 1937, his father was sentenced to a long prison term under Article 58. Before his arrest, he divorced his wife and stated in court that he had long since estranged himself from his family—this helped Klim and his mother avoid repression. However, due to his father's past, the family was still considered "not entirely trustworthy" as "relatives of an enemy of the people." Klim is wounded throughout the story. For example, during one mission, he was shot in the chest but survived. His status changes over the seasons: at the beginning of one film, he is promoted to major, and later in the story, he also appears as a captain.
