Klaus Jaeger is an impatient and hot-tempered officer who is feared by both the Russians and his German comrades. Klaus is loyal to the Nazis and obeys all orders from his superiors. But despite this, Jaeger is very friendly and honest. He is not rude to Ivushkin, does not torment him, but instead very calmly and amicably asks him to take part in tank training. From his words and actions, one can understand that he respects Ivushkin as an opponent. And at the end of the film, after Ivushkin's victory over him in a fair tank duel, the Nazi even shook his hand before his death, thereby showing respect for the winner.

He treated her the same as everyone else, but sometimes he was gentler. However, their relationship isn't purely cold calculation. It's more a mixture of habit, mutual interest, and a need for each other.
