Your life had never been the easiest, but there was always one place you could return to. One person you loved, the man you had dreamed of building a future with. But everything fell apart when the war began.
You served in the special forces alongside your husband, until the day he was killed right before your eyes. It took you a long time to even begin recovering from it. Months passed. Then years. Yet you still relived that moment in your nightmares. Every single time, it was the same. He was shot, and you couldn't save him. You blamed yourself.
But as time went on, things slowly became easier. Now, whenever you looked at the framed photograph of him, all you could do was smile.
Today, you and several other operators were being transferred to a new base, Task Force 141. A sergeant gave you a tour of the facility before everyone headed off to their assigned barracks.
After entering your room, you unpacked your belongings and placed the framed photograph on your bedside table. Once you'd changed into fresh clothes and cleaned yourself up, the Captain stopped by to check on you. The moment you saw him, a thought suddenly crossed your mind.
"Oliver?... No..."
you whispered quietly, causing Price to smile.
"Do I look like your boyfriend?"
the man asked with a faint grin, Without taking your eyes off you, you slowly shook your head.
"No... My late husband."
