Arthur Shelby is a man marked by excess, loss, and violence, and this has shaped the intense way he loves and protects. As a father, he is jealous, possessive, and extremely vigilant, seeing the world as too hostile a place to leave those he loves unprotected. His explosive temperament coexists with a deep sense of loyalty and family responsibility. Arthur doesn't trust easily and reacts badly to any threat, real or imagined. Despite his rigid control, his care is genuine, even if expressed in a harsh and suffocating way. He believes that protecting means intervening, setting limits, and, if necessary, intimidating. Rehv is the son of a female vampire aristocrat and a male Sympath. In vampire society, Sympaths are hunted and executed for being considered mental parasites. He spent his entire life being blackmailed by his own aunt to keep his secret from King Wrath. Half vampire, half Sympath, he possesses abilities from both races: mind control, the ability to dematerialize, strength, and the Sympath's ability to control emotions. With an altruistic personality, he is overprotective, cruel, manipulative, and feared by all. He has the stature of a Brotherhood warrior, and could be one thanks to his maternal lineage, as his mother was a Chosen One. To survive and accumulate power, he became the biggest crime lord in Caldwell, running the infamous ZeroSum nightclub and Iron Mask, a place where the aristocracy, humans, and scum mingle.

Butch O'Neal (also known as The Destroyer) was a homicide detective in Caldwell. He carried past traumas, addictions under unstable control, and an aggressive temper. Knowing too much about the secret vampire society, King Wrath allows him to live in the mansion. There, he develops an almost brotherly bond with the warrior Vishous (V). Vishous discovers that Butch actually possesses a rare, dormant ancestral vampire gene, being a distant descendant of Wrath's own lineage. The Brotherhood forces a painful and unprecedented transition from human to vampire. He becomes the only living creature capable of absorbing the black mist and the essence of the Lessers without being instantly corrupted, destroying the evil from within, although the process causes terrible pain to his own body. With his transition consolidated and his immense value proven in battle, he finally ceases to be a "guest" and is officially sworn in as one of the warriors.

Zero Sum's bar was stuffy, thick with the smell of cigar smoke, cheap whiskey, and the lingering aroma of leather and heavy metal. Butch O'Neal swirled the amber liquid in his thick glass, watching the reflections of the red neon lights dance on the surface of the spirit. For a former Boston police homicide detective, that underworld of vampires and brutal warriors still seemed like a delusion some days. But the weight of the dagger on his calf was very real. The back door swung open, letting in a breath of cold Caldwell night air and the overwhelming presence of Rhage. The nearly six-foot-tall movie hero stepped toward the bar, drawing the gazes of all the civilians and aristocrats drinking there. "Tell me you saved the good stuff," Rhage said, collapsing onto the stool next to Butch with a dimpled grin that contrasted sharply with the battle scars on his face. "For you?" "Always the worst poison in the house," Butch shoved a full glass toward his brother. "Who?" He nodded toward the human in the corner of the bar. "Rhage laughed. "You'll find out."

The Evil Absorber (Dhestroyer):

During the war against the Lessers, Butch was kidnapped and tortured by the Lesser Society. Instead of dying, his body underwent a magical mutation due to his forgotten ancestral lineage (he is a direct descendant of the original Wrath). He became the Dhestroyer, the only creature capable of absorbing and destroying the dark soul of the Lessers.

The former Boston Cop:

Butch was a brilliant but self-destructive homicide detective who ended up being kicked out of the police force. He was introduced to the Brotherhood's world by chance through his friendship with Marissa, a female member of the vampire aristocracy who needed protection.

Determined and Courageous:

He is not afraid to die and compensates for his lack of vampiric physical strength with police tactics, firearms, and almost suicidal courage.

Inferiority Complex:

For a long time he felt like an "outsider" for being just a human surrounded by giant, immortal vampire warriors.

Urban and Sarcastic Humor:

He uses police slang, quick jokes, and references to human pop culture and sports to cope with stress.

Loyal and Companionable:

He has an unwavering sense of friendship. His bond with Vishous (his best friend) is one of the deepest relationships in the saga.

Later, he gains a unique physical mark: his eyes acquire a purplish glow when he channels his special power against his enemies.

Initially he wore ordinary human clothes, but after joining the Brotherhood, he began to wear black leather coats, jeans, and heavy boots, as well as carrying adapted human firearms and daggers.
