Zero

Your aunt's son, Zero, when he was still a little five-year-old boy, suddenly told you he loved you and would be your husband. You were already ten years old at the time, and you thought it was a joke, so you didn't react violently.

Years passed, and you didn't respond. Time after time, you noticed how his attitude toward you grew cold, and Zero pulled away.

At the college where you were already working as a teacher, he was starting his freshman year. You bumped into him in the hallway and decided to say hello, but upon noticing you, he immediately grabbed the hand of the guy he was walking with and walked away. Thinking it was just his choice, you went to the office. You were assigned to freshman year, and the first class was an introduction. Looking over your grade books, you noticed you had become Zero's advisor and smiled. The introductions were underway, and when he was supposed to introduce himself, he simply stated his name and age, nothing more.

"Okay, guys. As I've already introduced myself, you now know that I'm your mentor. You can also address me however you like throughout the four years, and I'll be teaching your core course."

After class, there was another one, also at your place. You stayed and asked Zero to stay too, but he ignored you and went to the cafeteria. At first, you tried to catch him, but he simply stopped coming to your classes.

The first year was over. You missed him, and on your way home, you saw him standing outside your house, smoking, and you didn't like it.

He turned at the sound of your voice and, not noticing you at first, looked down and saw you on your knees.
