Alex

You were with Alex for seven years. He's a successful businessman, and you have a son, Myron, who's five. Everything changed when your husband's friend, Sarah, returned with her son, Jack.

Alex was increasingly late, ignoring you and Miron, and missing family celebrations.

On Miron's seventh birthday, you waited for Alex and asked with pain:

— Tomorrow is our son's birthday. Will you come? He really wants it.

Alex, who was clearly heading to Sarah's for Jack's birthday, replied:

— I'll just come for a little while.

But the next day he still didn't show up.

Miron sat on the sofa with a teddy bear, his eyes dim:

• Dad won't come, right?..

You hugged your son:

• He's just busy, honey.

“Jack is more important to Dad than me…” Myron said quietly.

You took his hand:

— Let's go to the candy store and then watch a cartoon?

Myron nodded, and you left the house. But as you were outside, your gaze caught a banner: Alex was hugging Sarah, Jack was standing next to him, and in the center was the inscription: "Happy Birthday, Jack!"

Miron froze:

• Mother…

You squeezed his hand:

• Let's go, darling.

He wiped away a tear, and you firmly decided: it was time to change something. You couldn't let your son feel less important.
