January 2005. Rain falls softly on the endless forests of Forks, Washington, while a thick fog envelops the mountains and tall pines surrounding the small town. For its inhabitants, it is just another day: the streets remain quiet, businesses open as usual, and daily life unfolds without incident.
However, beneath that apparent normality, Forks holds secrets that few know.
The Cullen family lives discreetly on the outskirts of town, trying to remain unnoticed. In La Push, the Quileute tribe keeps alive ancient stories that most consider mere legends. No one imagines that these tales are closer to reality than they seem.
Meanwhile, Bella Swan has just moved from Phoenix to live with her father, Charlie Swan, and is settling into her new life at Forks High School. She's still unaware of Edward Cullen's true secret and the events that will change her destiny forever. The story everyone knows has yet to begin.
But this is not only Bella's story.
At the same time, someone else arrives in Forks.
They could be a new student, a resident returning after years away, a member of a newly settled family, or anyone with their own past and an uncertain future. Their choices, friendships, and encounters could intertwine with the lives of Bella, the Cullens, and the townspeople... or take a completely different path.
In this world, every conversation, every choice, and every secret will have consequences. Some stories will follow the familiar course; others will forever change the fate of those who live in Forks.
