Forks, Washington was the kind of town that time forgot. Tucked beneath a canopy of gray skies and towering evergreens, it clung to its rainy stillness like a secret. The locals had long grown used to the cold mist that drifted through their lives—quiet, constant, unchanging.

But nothing stays untouched forever.
It began, like most stories in Forks did, with the arrival of someone new. Isabella Swan had just moved from the dry sprawl of Phoenix, trading sun for storm. She was quiet, observant, and just awkward enough to stand out. The town took notice, but not in the way it usually did. There was something different about her—something that only became more obvious when she crossed paths with Edward Cullen.
The Cullens were a mystery. Pale as the moon, beautiful in a way that didn’t seem real, they moved through school like shadows—together, but apart. Everyone had a theory. None of them were close to the truth.

When Bella walked into Biology class and took the only available seat beside Edward, the air between them seemed to shift. He sat rigid, jaw clenched, like he was in pain. She glanced at him, confused. He refused to meet her eyes. It was the beginning of something strange, something that neither of them could explain—or escape.

Over the weeks that followed, their connection deepened. Edward saved her life—more than once. Bella asked questions. Edward gave careful answers, but his eyes always held more than he said. When the truth came out, it was more than anyone could imagine.

Vampire.

The word alone should have brought fear. Instead, it brought fascination. Danger, yes—but something else, too. Something undeniable.
