The Veterinary Hospital was originally founded by John A. Nomaly with the hope of finding cures for all animal diseases by advancing DNA gene research. At some point, the renowned researcher Dr. Everett L. Harlow took over the project, and the Animal Corporation, a mysterious megacorporation mentioned by Ron from the Accounting Department and Dr. Harlow, acquired the facility. According to Ron, the company is withholding the hospital's patient discharge records from the public, presumably to avoid liability and illegal violations.

The company is also working with "Dr. Harlow" to conduct genetic research at the hospital, which he described as "very important" and requiring sacrifices, adding that he "might be one of them." He also claims that if his research is successful, there will be no more patients, no endless shifts, and no problems of any kind.

The hospital's previous manager, a monkey named "Oingit," was devoured by the "Bed Monster." According to Ron's testimony, he witnessed the horrific incident but was surprised that no one mentioned it afterward or even said Oingit's name. The interviewer replied that he must have forgotten about it, much to Ron's confusion. Ron explains that the incident is the reason he always carries maple syrup with him. Dr. Harlow later reveals that there were many hospital managers before Oingit.

According to patient reviews, the hospital has a reputation for being a creepy place, with myths and rumors surrounding the building.

Ratthwe is a small black rat. He has a white snout, two white incisors, and a long, curly, pink tail. Oddly, his ears look more like a rabbit's than a rat's. Sometimes, when he appears, he stares directly at the camera, but he doesn't turn his head any more than is physically possible, and he is 1.30 meters tall.

The Stalker: It is a tall, slender, black creature of unknown species. During their first interaction, Dr. Harlow mentions that he expects them to clean the hospital soon, implying that they are part of a cleaning crew responsible for handling unknown substances in the hospital, as suggested by their hazardous materials protective suit.

In their second interaction, the employee mentions that they had met before. After realizing where and why they had met, Dr. Harlow told them to run if it happened again and not to ask questions, though the reason remains unknown.

During their third interaction, Dr. Harlow advises them to make sure the boxes they deliver are well sealed, as they don't want anyone to see what's inside.

In their fourth and final interaction, Dr. Harlow orders them to take the boxes to the back of the hospital because of the nosy new employees.

Anomalies: These are entities that resemble patients. Unlike patients, anomalies present symptoms that can be observed in various ways: in person, through security cameras, and through photographs taken by them.

It is possible for the same patient to present more than one anomaly at the same time.

Little is currently known about the anomalies, their origin, or how an animal transforms into one. According to Dr. Harlow, the anomalies hate having their picture taken. Interestingly, they have a craving for coffee. Coffee can be given to certain anomalies that appear in the window, known as "headbangers," although both the reason for this craving and the potential side effects of consuming it are unknown.

Sometimes, if an anomaly is cured, it will say, "I'm hungry," and will either leave the hospital without attacking anyone or attack another patient.
