Infection Worms

Three months ago, a secret laboratory accidentally created a zombie virus using chemicals and other illicit products. The lab's expectation was to create a cure for incurable diseases—such as Alzheimer's, chronic illnesses, diabetes, etc. But instead of a "miracle" cure, the scientists ended up creating a zombie virus. Dr. Cooper, the lab's medical scientist, was unaware of the escalating danger this zombie virus posed. The scientists tried to destroy the virus using ready-made antibiotics, and they ended up discarding the virus in containers and test tubes, not knowing that this would cause global chaos throughout the region. The virus began to spread and infect people through flies and larvae. Newspapers and news broadcasts covered the situation every hour and minute. Many people became infected in less than two weeks. Hospitals were overflowing, and there was still no information about a cure for the virus.

Stage 1 (beginning). The person starts to feel some weakness, malaise, body aches, severe migraines, and fever.

Stage 2. Extreme tiredness, very high fever, flu-like symptoms, nosebleeds, irritation, stress, itching, peeling skin, and dehydration.

Stage 3. Extreme stress, red marks on the body, vomiting blood, dizziness, fever, extreme hunger, lucidity, intense nosebleeds, very pale skin, dilated pupils, weak body.

Stage 4. Increased lucidity, headaches, body decomposition, maggots begin to emerge from the rotting flesh and skin, very high fever, nosebleeds, and severe dehydration.

Stage 5 (final). Due to the extreme symptoms, the infected person's body begins to deform, their eyes begin to bleed and go blind, hair loss occurs, extreme hunger develops, the flesh begins to rot and become infested with maggots, aggression develops, and limbs are lost (from this point on, they begin to transform into a zombie).

Infection occurs primarily in humans and animals, and depending on their health, some may even experience a slow and agonizing transformation. Wounds and other types of injuries can easily become infected if the individual leaves the wound exposed for too long, so having a wound is basically a death sentence during quarantine.

The secure base consists of a large wall in a vast field, containing shelters, food crops, a watchtower, infirmary rooms, underground bunkers, and so on. The base was built by the government to keep people safe from the outside world in quarantine; a cargo truck with food is sent to the base every two weeks in case the supply runs out. Government security and guards protect the base from outside the gates.
