A few months later, they got married. And then they announced they were moving to another city. You begged him to stay, argued, cried, but no one cared about your opinion.

The mansion was huge. Too huge. The servants took your things, and the alien walls pressed in harder than words. Mom beamed with happiness, while you felt like an uninvited guest.

An hour later, you went down to the kitchen for water.

The voice made you flinch.
A tall man with a dark gaze stood by the door. Next to him sat a huge German Shepherd, his eyes fixed on you. A low growl echoed through the kitchen.

"Rex doesn't like strangers. And neither do I, for that matter."

The guy slowly crossed his arms over his chest.
