Captain Price

Captain John Price is a natural leader, pragmatic and with a strong sense of duty. Known for his famous golden rule, "We get our hands dirty to keep the world clean," he acts as a father figure to the members of Task Force 141. Pragmatic and utilitarian: He believes the ends justify the means. He is willing to make morally gray decisions and do the "dirty work" to ensure global peace. A maverick leader: He has a deep hatred for being bound by rules, protocols, or bureaucracy. He tends to act independently and disobey direct orders if he believes it is the right thing to do. Loyal and protective: He is deeply attached to his comrades (like John "Soap" MacTavish) and suffers intensely when his team is lost. Grumpy and sarcastic: Beneath his serious and gruff exterior, he is a cynical war veteran who often plays practical jokes and insults on his friends as a sign of affection. Ruthless and vengeful: Although compassionate towards the innocent, he can be ruthless and cruel when hunting terrorists or war criminals.

Captain John Price, nicknamed Bravo Six, is an SAS officer who appears in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII (in Blackout mode). He usually wears a hat, and his most frequently used weapon is a modified M4A1 carbine. He is part of Task Force 141 and the 22nd SAS Regiment. Fifteen years before Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, he was a lieutenant, but he always wears his military uniform. He has brown hair, a well-groomed beard and mustache, and brown eyes.

1996 In 1996, Price was a lieutenant doing dirty work. That year, along with Captain MacMillan, he was given the mission to kill Russian arms dealer Imran Zakhaev, a nuclear weapons dealer. The mission took place in Pripyat (Chernobyl), Ukraine, the city abandoned after the Chernobyl accident and the location where Zakhaev was scheduled to make an exchange. Price and MacMillan stealthily infiltrated the city and prepared an M82 rifle to shoot Zakhaev on the top floor of a hotel, about a kilometer away. Price managed to hit Zakhaev and took his arm off with the shot, thinking he was dead. MacMillan and Price were discovered and began running to the landing zone, but MacMillan was hit by a helicopter along the way, so Price had to carry him to the extraction point. Upon arriving, they are informed that the helicopter is 10 km away and that they should hold out until they arrive. The two are attacked by waves of enemies but manage to hold out and escape alive in the helicopter.

Trivia He is the only survivor of Task Force 141 along with Nikolai. During the time Soap was recovering from the injuries he sustained at the end of Modern Warfare, he acquired some of Price's habits, such as going to the same racetrack as him or smoking the same brand of cigarettes as him. He is the only character, along with Simon "Ghost" Riley, to use the word "Yankees" to refer to Americans.

After Shepherd's death, Price and Nikolai take a wounded Soap to Nikolai's hideout in India where he receives medical treatment. However, Makarov finds them and sends his men to kill the fugitives, but they manage to escape with the help of Nikolai's man, Yuri.

After President Vorshevsky disappears, Price realizes it was Makarov and, using information from Yuri, they intercept one of Makarov's shipments in Sierra Leone. Price goes there with Soap and Yuri but they are threatened by militiamen. The heroes manage to fight their way through a city swarming with enemies and reach their objective. When they arrive at the shipment, it departs by helicopter for Europe. The shipment turns out to be chemical bombs that explode across Europe. Back on the Grill Two months after Soap's recovery, Price leads Soap and Yuri in their pursuit of Makarov through Sierra Leone and Somalia. The group follows Yuri's suspicions about Makarov's weapons shipments and discovers that he sent chemical weapons destined for Paris, Berlin, and London. Price secretly sends a transmission to London to warn his former commander, MacMillan, about the weapons, but it arrives too late. After the attacks, Price convinces MacMillan to help him as a personal favor for the Pripyat incident. The intelligence MacMillan provides leads them to a local war god named Waraabe. With Soap's help, they interrogate him, and the intelligence he gives them facilitates the Metal Team's action, which leads to the apprehension of Volk, the man who made the bombs for Makarov during the Ultranationalist attacks in Paris and Berlin.

Price and Soap become wanted criminals worldwide and decide to eliminate Shepherd. They infiltrate his base but alert everyone, and Shepherd escapes. Price and Soap pursue him in a speedboat, but Shepherd boards a Pave Low. Price knocks it down, but the speedboat plunges over a waterfall. Shepherd, Soap, and Price survive and have one last battle. Price saves Soap from being killed by Shepherd, and a fight ensues between the two. Shepherd gains the upper hand, and when it seems all is lost, Soap manages to pull a knife from Shepherd's chest out and throws it at Shepherd's head, hitting him in the eye. Price helps Soap to his feet, and Nikolai arrives in a small helicopter, taking them to a safe place to hide.

Five years after the assassination of Imran Zakhaev, Price is captured by Russian troops and taken to a gulag. His whereabouts are unknown, but he is designated Prisoner 627 after extracting information about Vladimir Makarov, knowing that 627 was the person Makarov hated most. Task Force 141 goes to the gulag and, after overcoming the defenses and guards with the help of Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson, enters the cell, but Price is there.

He knocks him out and points an AK-47 at him, the same AK-47 he had just killed. Soap arrives, and the two recognize each other. MacTavish gives Price his M1911 (the one he used to kill Zakhaev). Roach, Soap, Price, and Worm escape before the building explodes. After his rescue, Price joins the 141st Airborne Division, but his goals differ from General Shepherd's. He's sent on an infiltration mission aboard a submarine with Roach. After alerting the enemy, they rendezvous with Ghost and other soldiers and advance toward the submarine. Upon reaching the dock, Price enters the submarine, and the doors to the missile silo begin to open. Price ignores Ghost's warnings and launches a missile aimed at Washington, D.C., where a battle is raging between the Rangers and the Russians. But the missile doesn't explode in the city; it explodes in the atmosphere.

But Shepherd betrays the 141st, killing Roach and Ghost to get information on Makarov and then portray himself as a war hero. Price and Soap are also betrayed but are rescued by Nikolai.

Sometime between 2011 and 2016, an operation called Kingfish was carried out to locate a target codenamed after the operation, who was actually Vladimir Makarov. The operation began with Task Force 141 in the Karkonosze Mountains of Ukraine. They successfully infiltrated the target's suspected location with the help of snipers and an AC-130. They reached the room where Kingfish was supposed to be. The team blasted through a wall and eliminated the Russian forces, but there was no sign of Kingfish. At that moment, Soap showed Price a photo taped to the wall, revealing that Kingfish's target was Bravo 6. A bomb exploded in the room, but everyone escaped unharmed. While attempting to escape, the AC-130 was shot down by an RPG, and Soap was critically wounded. Price and Ghost stayed behind to cover him while two soldiers helped him into the helicopter. Price ordered Ghost to get in as well, and Ghost reluctantly agreed. A soldier tells the pilot not to take off yet because Price is still on the ground, but the pilot is forced to take off and does so. At that moment, a Russian soldier shoots Price, who falls to the ground but quickly gets up and starts firing a Desert Eagle as the helicopter takes off. The soldiers try to restrain Soap, who doesn't want to leave Price behind. The last thing he sees is Price falling again and being surrounded by Ultranationalists.

Due to the death of his son, Zakhaev launches two missiles toward the East Coast of the United States. Price and his team infiltrate the base to stop the missiles. The SAS succeed, and the missiles are deactivated. Because of their failure, Zakhaev escapes and orders all his troops to kill the SAS. The SAS escape in trucks but are relentlessly pursued. Finally, an ultranationalist Hind destroys a bridge, and the SAS fall through it. The survivors engage in battle with the ultranationalists while Gaz tries to contact the base, but it cannot provide air support. At a complete disadvantage, it seemed that the SAS were going to be defeated, but then the patriot Kamarov contacts them and informs them that he will provide support. However, a fuel tank explodes behind the SAS, incapacitating them. Griggs rescues Soap and takes him away from the fire but is shot in the head. Gaz is killed by Zakhaev, and Soap and Price are seriously wounded. The patriots arrive and distract Zakhaev. At that moment, Price slips his M1911 to Soap. Soap kills Zakhaev and his guards. The patriots land and give Soap medical support. Before being put on the helicopter, Soap watches as a patriot tries, seemingly in vain, to revive Price.

Fifteen years later, Price had become a captain and the leader of the 22nd SAS Regiment. In 2011, Price welcomed a new recruit, John "Soap" MacTavish, who had successfully passed the tests. The SAS were tasked with securing a package on a boat in the Bering Strait, but their mission was disrupted when the vessel was attacked by two MiGs. All the SAS personnel managed to escape alive. Later, Price learned of Al-Fulani's death at the hands of Al-Asad, but because Al-Asad was involved in the Marines' missions, Price and his team went to rescue their informant, Nikolai, in the ultranationalist camp. Nikolai was rescued, but the helicopter they were traveling in was shot down. Only Price, Soap, Gaz, Nikolai, and four other SAS personnel survived and advanced through a camp swarming with ultranationalists to rendezvous with an AC-130 that would escort them to the extraction point. The mission is a success, and the SAS are extracted. After 30,000 marines are killed by a nuclear bomb planted by Al-Asad, the SAS are sent to capture him. Thanks to Nikolai, Price learns that Al-Asad is hiding in a safe house in Azerbaijan. The SAS eliminate the ultranationalists and capture Al-Asad. However, Price learns that Al-Asad's assistant, Imran Zakhaev, who had survived the Pripyat attack, is responsible for the bomb. Price then eliminates Al-Asad and tells his team about their mission in Pripyat. Eight hours later, the ultranationalists reappear to avenge Al-Asad's death and corner the SAS. However, they manage to escape with the help of the Marines. Following these events, the SAS and the Marines join forces to eliminate Zakhaev. Unable to find him, they decide to use his son Victor Zakhaev as bait, but he commits suicide before being captured.
