Tulio Trivino

He comes from a family with a prominent place in the history of Titirilquén, his hometown, which he doesn't like to talk about much. His birth coincided with a strong earthquake in the region, so the saying "A Tulio is going to be born" is a common phrase in Titirilquén whenever there's an earthquake.

At a young age, Triviño once visited Uncle Horacio's show. Unfortunately, his hair was badly combed, so Uncle Horacio took advantage of this to throw a pie in little Tulio's face, and from that day on he held a grudge against the host.

A couple more years later, he joined the "Apumanque" scout pack where he met his future friend and schoolmate, Juan Carlos Bodoque the rabbit. Together they found the small, abandoned Juanín when they got lost on an excursion because Tulio had taken a photo of himself instead of a map.

Tulio says his main inspiration for studying journalism came from a corner kiosk in the town of Titirilquén, the official branch of the newspaper "El Alarmista" and the town's only media outlet with an international presence. It's also a popular spot for tourists because the tourist office is always closed. As an adult, his first professional interview was with Nicasio Fallido, a boy who imitated car sounds and wrote poems about them. According to Tulio, that's where he learned everything he knows about journalism.

He soon landed an important reporter position at a Venezuelan channel specializing in beetles[2] ("it was a boring but exciting job," he noted), but returned to Chile after Bodoque wrote to him about a new news program owned by Eusebio Manguera. To his friend's dismay, Tulio got the job as anchor.

Somewhat innocently, Tulio seems to consider Bodoque his best friend, as they've known each other since they were children and belonged to the same Scout troop, the Apumanque Pack. Although their relationship is far from perfect, with both men constantly undermining each other—Tulio with his egocentrism, and Bodoque with his pride and gambling problems—they still care for one another. Bodoque's feelings stem more from a rivalry for Tulio's position, and Tulio, in turn, betrays him less often when he's thinking more of himself, inevitably hurting his friend's feelings. For example, during an interview Bodoque conducts with Tulio, he asks him who he'd leave the hosting duties to when he retires. Tulio replies that he'd leave it to him when he retires from work, then reaffirms that he'll never retire, prompting Bodoque to punch him off-camera for being a bad friend.

Aside from that, Tulio has a friendly relationship with the rest of the show's staff. Although he can be a bit brusque with Juanín at times, asking him to do things outside his duties as the show's producer, such as ironing his ties, making him coffee that tastes like tea, or doing all the work himself, Tulio also often shouts, "Party at Juanín's house!" without his friend's permission. Despite everything, and although he doesn't express it openly, Tulio values ​​his friendship and cares about Juanín.

He is also a very good friend of Policarpo Avendaño, with whom he seems to be less despotic, and Policarpo is the one who least emphasizes Tulio's obvious stupidity.

Tulio despises Uncle Horacio because the latter mocked him as a child one day when he went to the show simply because his hair was a mess, and Uncle Horacio threw a pie in his face. He's also a rival because his news program is the counterpart and competitor to 31 Minutos.

We learn that Tulio was still in a relationship with Cindy and stood her up on a date six years prior to attend an interview. Seeking revenge, she impersonated a high-ranking criminal to make him look bad. He then sought her forgiveness, and she gave him another chance. However, he again missed their date to attend another interview to talk about himself. Cindy swore revenge once more, suggesting that Tulio was very distant in their relationship, even mentioning that he had forgotten her phone number.

In the Tremendous Tulio Tour, for the reconciliation that was part of his self-tribute, Juanín had invited his ex-girlfriend Cindy, whom he stood up at the Chinese Dragon restaurant. Tulio feigned a panic attack to avoid Cindy and having to pay the bill, but Cindy saw through his ruse, leaving Tulio no choice but to admit his stingy behavior. They, along with the rest of their friends, escaped the furious dragon who had arrived on stage because of the debt. Overall, their relationship had its ups and downs due to Tulio's vanity and stinginess and Cindy's demands, but in the end, they continued to love each other.

The status of Tulio and Cindy's relationship remains uncertain, despite her being his most stable girlfriend. Furthermore, at Christmas, Tulio introduces his new girlfriend, Sandy Paniagua (who bears some physical resemblance to Cindy). However, he experiences the same relationship problems with her as he did with Cindy.

His sister's only daughter, a mischievous but intelligent girl named Patricia Ana Tufillo, better known as Patana, works as a trainee reporter under her uncle. Tulio can't stand her, considering her a troublemaker and disobedient, when in reality she is a brave, astute girl who admires her uncle, even though she is actually more competent than he is.

In matters of romance: Tulio is very romantic when he falls in love, as long as his pride doesn't get in the way. However, he can get bored with the situation, perhaps due to his own egocentrism. It could be said that he loves himself more. Tulio showed a marked interest in his colleague Carla Rubio, which was rejected time and again by her. His relationship with Cindy Miraflores, a girl with a slight speech impediment, became public. In front of his colleagues, he only considered her a summer fling; Cindy even affectionately called him "meringue cupcake." After a disastrous attempt to deny their relationship to impress his friends, Cindy loses faith in him, so he tries to reconcile with her. They eventually enter into a formal relationship, albeit a long-distance one, as she lives in the remote town of Titiritalca. She is seen again during the second season confronting Tulio, as he had lied to her, but they broke up, haha.

He used to be a TV host in Venezuela, showing a program about beetles.

Tulio's family are farmers who live in the remote, remote Mountain of Bazofia, which he completely abandoned after his television success. He fabricated a story about their deaths in a tragic accident to keep everyone away, but he's later forced to return to them to reclaim his great-great-great-great-grandfather's tie so he can attend the next "Kindest Man Award" ceremony. And he once sold his mother's house, lol.

His voice and manner of speaking are more energetic with an exaggerated and egocentric tone.

Between Tulio, Bodoque, and Juanín; Tulio is older than Juanín, but Bodoque is older and more mature. He's over 40-50 years old, which is a fossil.

Despite being originally from Titirilquén, he cannot pronounce the name well, nor can he say tongue twisters like Parangaricutirimicuaro.

He is the highest paid in the entire program and he flaunts it tirelessly, which is strange since in many episodes it is mentioned that the news program is rubbish and nobody watches it, even Tulio in one episode comments that his mother is the only viewer.

Tulio is, among other things, vain, ambiguous, forgetful, clumsy, greedy, and eccentric. He has the bad habit of being a compulsive shopper, acquiring things he'll never use, like the yacht he had in the TV show "31 Minutos," the movie, a "washing machine for washing machines," and an endless collection of Italian ties. One of his sporting interests is golf.

He's so egocentric that he really exploits Juanin. He's always demanding things from Juanin, even absurd ones like teaching him to read, ordering coffee that tastes like tea, ironing his ties, and so on. He's extremely self-centered and has trouble thinking about anything other than himself. The TV audience, deep down, considers him kind-hearted. He tries to maintain his composure on the show, since something unexpected always happens, which puts him in a bad mood (or maybe he's also a narcissist, haha).

Tulio is also very absent-minded, since during program transitions he starts doing all sorts of things, requiring Juanín to shout "Tulio, we're on air!" to get him to continue hosting the newscast, like the time he was picking his nose.

Tulio is a good friend and cares a lot about his colleagues and friends on the show, especially Juanín and Bodoque, who are the closest to him, since they have known each other since childhood.
