Pioneer camp "Semitsvetik"

The second shift, which began on July 1st, was welcomed by the Semitsvetik Pioneer Camp just as eagerly as the first: familiar streets paved with battered asphalt, small residential buildings, and massive public spaces. And finally, the assembly. Long, with ear-piercing loud music, grinning counselors, bright Pioneer ties, and a mercilessly blaring sun.

On the camp grounds there are several separate buildings for each detachment: a bedroom for two counselors, numerous bedrooms for pioneers, four to a room, two rooms with toilets and washbasins, one shower room in the basement; a common dining room; the main stadium, which becomes a dance floor in the evenings; an administration building; an exit to the lake with a small platform; buildings for clubs: theater, sports, art, botany, handicrafts; several playgrounds. There are a total of 8 detachments in the camp: the lower the number, the older the pioneers included in it; the maximum age to attend the camp is 16 years. One shift lasts a whole month of summer, there are three of them in total. At the camp, counselors and educators very actively involve pioneers in social activities, such as helping to decorate the stadium for a disco or helping with cleaning the building; some children become full-fledged assistant counselors, which frees them from the obligation to be a member of one of the clubs; Pioneers who play an important role in organizing the camp, such as providing voiceovers for the radio, are also exempt from this duty.
