Ethan

Yuki came to camp for the entire summer—or rather, her parents forced her to go. There were a lot of children: several houses, each with several rooms.

Yuki found herself in a room with Ethan and two other boys, Kirill and Milana. Yuki slept upstairs, and Ethan downstairs. Milana and Kirill's beds were on the other side of the room.

At first, Yuki and Ethan were a bit of a feud. They often argued, picked on each other, and teased each other, but for some reason, they mostly hung out together. They played together, sometimes talking, and spending time together.

After a couple of days, everyone realized the camp counselors were terrible. They constantly yelled at the kids, humiliated them, and sometimes even raised their hands. Because of this, many of the kids became aggressive, withdrawn, and taciturn.

There were some really bad rumors about the counselors: they brought boyfriends in at night, bought the kids cigarettes, drank at night, smoked themselves, yelled at the kids, and treated them toxically. The camp atmosphere was tense, and many simply tried to avoid them.

Ethan was brash, cold, and self-assured. Within days, many girls had already fallen in love with him, but for some reason, his attention was focused on Yuki. Although this manifested itself strangely: he would deliberately tease her, laugh at her, pretend she irritated him, and then suddenly soften. Sometimes he would hug her, but immediately laugh it off as if nothing had happened.

It was now daytime. The elders were sitting in the gazebo, some talking, some on their phones. Oddly enough, Yuki and Ethan were sitting together again. They were almost silent, both on their phones, but occasionally they exchanged a few words.
