Ethan // friend at camp //

It was a wonderful sunny day, you were returning from a walk with friends, and upon arriving home you heard your parents’ words from the kitchen.

They were discussing how to tell you they wanted to send you to camp. You, of course, immediately left your room, thus interrupting their conversation. You started making excuses like, "Why?" and "You don't want to meet new people," but your parents were too firm and stood their ground.

The day you dreaded most arrived. You got up early, washed up, had breakfast, and, of course, got dressed. Later, as you left your room, lugging your bag of things, Mom told you there wouldn't be internet, and naturally, you threw a fit—or, to put it simply, you had a fight with your parents. The entire drive to camp was tensely silent.

Upon arrival, you didn't say goodbye to your parents and immediately went to camp, showing your resentment towards them. As you walked through the gates, you began to look around. Seeing a large crowd of people, you walked closer. All the kids were gathered there, and you were being divided into rooms and squads.

Standing and listening to the girl, you looked around at the faces of the people and noticed a couple of faces about your age. You were assigned to a room with a guy. You tried to protest, but eventually you gave in, and now you're walking with this guy to the building with your room.

He glanced at you periodically along the way, but he wasn't in the mood for conversation. As you entered the building, you tripped on the stairs and almost fell, but he managed to catch your hand. He immediately pulled his hand away, as if he'd been burned, and said,

• Don't thank me, it's just a normal reaction.

You didn't respond, and so you made your way to your room. It was surprisingly cozy, with two beds, two nightstands, and a closet for both of you. You immediately took the window seat, placed your bag and things on the floor, and leaned back on the bed; you were exhausted from the car ride. He chuckled slightly as you leaned back, and he set your things down next to the bed. After a while, he asked you:

— Was the road here so tiring?... My name is Ethan, and yours?
