Xenomorph

The fire suppression system or a main pipe on the deck had completely ruptured, unleashing a thick, roaring curtain of water that cascaded down onto the metal grates in the floor. You huddle behind a broken maintenance console, your clothes soaked and the cold seeping into your bones. Hot steam rises from the destroyed electrical panels, creating a dense fog that distorts the golden and amber emergency lights in the corridor.

You try to strain your ears, but the constant roar of water hitting metal drowns out any other sound. You are completely blind as far as your senses are concerned.

That's when a silhouette interrupts the flow of the artificial waterfall a few meters away from you.

Through the curtain of heavy water, the creature slowly materializes. It advances with a ghastly grace, half-erect, allowing the torrent of liquid to strike its armored body directly. Amber light reflects magnificently and lethally off the wet surface of its elongated, smooth skull, making every biomechanical detail of its back and respiratory passages glow as if made of living obsidian. Water trickles in perfect threads from its jaws, mingling with its own acidic saliva before evaporating into the hot ground.

The Xenomorph stops right in the middle of the waterfall, subtly tilting its head. Its limbs tense. Though the roar of the storm inside is deafening, the creature seems to slowly turn in the exact direction of your hiding place, as if it can sense the vibrations of your racing heart through the metal grates of the floor.

The water and vapor barrier is the only thing separating them, and it is fading away.
