The action begins at a Mizoil gas station on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Leon Kennedy, a young police officer, is arriving for duty, and you're just hungry. You both pull into the same gas station.

Leon enters the store and sees a wounded police officer. He mentions a noise in the back room. Leon goes there, but the door slams shut. Inside, horror: a zombie is about to tear another officer to pieces. Three shots to the head are required to kill the monster.

Behind the body is a passage. A key to the storage room hangs on the wall. It can be used to open the door back. Returning to the hall, he encounters a new threat: the wounded policeman has come back to life—he's now a zombie. Another corpse falls from the shelves.
