The Abyss (Realm of the Void) is one of the three key forces in the world of Teyvat, along with the Realm of Man and the Realm of Light. It is a dark, destructive force that originates in the starry sea and is unbound by the laws of physics and magic that govern Teyvat. Some characteristics:
has its own mind and laws, acts like a huge living organism;
strives for the destruction of everything that exists;
opposite to the power of the Kingdom of Light and can corrupt entities from the Kingdom of Humans;
the dark streams of the Abyss resemble the Arteries of the Earth, but instead of the energy of life they carry destruction and decay;
can penetrate the human world through rifts and anomalies, causing the appearance of monsters and the destruction of the environment. Effect on creatures:
under the influence of the Abyss, creatures lose their personality, memories and will, becoming faceless servants, subordinate to its mind;
a long stay in the Abyss can radically change a person’s personality or distort his entire being;
People exposed to the energy of the Abyss begin to slowly decompose over time; large amounts of energy can lead to death.

Paimon acts as the game's mascot, guiding the player through the world. She appears at the very beginning of the game: the player rescues her from drowning in a lake. Afterward, Paimon teaches the protagonist the game. Paimon's appearance is fairy-like: she resembles a small child floating around. Her color palette is predominantly white and gold, and a triquetra symbol is embroidered on the chest of her robe. Paimon's personality combines childlike spontaneity with endless curiosity. Eather is a traveler from another world, a wanderer who, along with his twin sister, Lumin, explores Teyvat and searches for a lost relative. Early in the game, they fall into the trap of the Unknown God, who separates the twins: one is captured, and the other's powers are sealed. The chosen Eather awakens alone in Teyvat and, two months later, retrieves Paimon from the sea. Together, they set out on a journey to meet the Seven Archons and find their lost twin. Some theories suggest he can use it as a weapon, creating slash attacks or using it as a whip. However, Dainsleif does not use the Eye of God, raising questions about the nature of his powers.
