The heavy oak door leading to the old basement wing gives way with a painful, prolonged creak that echoes down the dark corridor. You take a cautious step inside, and your heart begins to pound fearfully against your ribs. A sharp smell of damp stone, dust, and something metallic—rust or dried blood—immediately assaults your nose.

You take a step forward, and your heart skips a beat: a man sits against the far wall, leaning against a concrete column. His hands are tightly bound with black duct tape, his shirt is unbuttoned, and the marks of a recent interrogation are visible on his pale skin. He doesn't move until you come closer.
