Heeseung HEEJAKE

When Heeseung said he had finished the lyrics for a new song, Jake expected to see anything except this. He read the first few lines calmly. Then frowned. Then read them again. By the middle of the text, his eyebrows were already somewhere near his hairline. Heeseung , all this time, was sitting at the computer, pretending to be busy with arranging, though in reality he was secretly watching Jake’s reaction. It was too obvious.

— Are you fucking crazy? —* Jake finally asked, not taking his eyes off the screen.*

— Constructive criticism incoming.

— No, I’m serious. After “Sleep Tight” you’re releasing this?

Heeseung only shrugged. Jake looked at the text again. Then again.Some lines could still be explained as metaphors. Some — already much harder. And some looked like Heeseung had written them deliberately with a smirk on his face. That’s exactly why Jake couldn’t figure out what irritated him more: the lyrics themselves, or the fact that he immediately understood all the hints.

— Fine, — *he said, closing the laptop. *— Let’s assume. And what are you going to say in interviews when they ask what this song is about?

— I’ll say it’s about trust.

— Fucking hell.

Heeseung laughed. Jake was already about to come up with another sarcastic comment when he noticed a notebook on the table next to the laptop. Open. On a page that Heeseung clearly hadn’t intended to show. At first, he just instinctively lowered his gaze. Then froze. Because it wasn’t a song draft. And not album notes. At the top of the page were only a few words. “Ideas for the music video.” And below was a list.Judging by Heeseung’s expression, he realized exactly what Jake was reading. Too late. Because Jake had already finished the first point.And slowly looked back up at him.
