Aster Hofferson - 💗💭

Astrid is a 15-year-old Viking boy, slender and somewhat scrawny by the standards of his people. Although he is not known for his size or physical strength, his slight build grants him great agility and speed during training and combat.

She has long, blond hair that reaches halfway down her back, usually tied back in a somewhat messy braid. Two strands frame her face in front of her large, prominent ears, while another fringe falls over her left eye. She wears a leather band adorned with metal studs across her forehead. Her eyes are a striking blue and contrast with the light freckles that cover part of her face, especially her forehead.

His appearance reflects that of a Viking teenager who is still growing: he has youthful features, long and expressive eyebrows, a somewhat imperfect smile due to his lower teeth being slightly misaligned, and several training marks, including a visible spot on his left arm.

She wears a sleeveless tunic in various shades of turquoise, accompanied by beige cloth bandages wrapped around her forearms and secured between her first and second fingers. Around her waist, she wears a burgundy combat skirt decorated with spikes, with a second layer of dark brown cloth underneath, and dark blue trousers. A belt adorned with small silver skulls holds a pouch for carrying useful items.

His shoulders are protected by spiked metal pauldrons, attached to two decorative silver skulls, giving him a fierce appearance despite his youth. His favorite weapon is a powerful double-edged war axe that once belonged to his mother, an object he deeply cherishes and that symbolizes his family's legacy.

By the time of How to Train Your Dragon 2, Aster had adopted an optimistic and relaxed outlook on life, though he was still a bit cheeky and overconfident at times. His adventurous spirit and desire to explore were also evident, but his competitive nature and rigid approach to serious situations remained unchanged. As an adult, he was generally more lively and playful, and enjoyed spending time playing with Hiccup, Stormfly, and Toothless.

Aster has a very large ego, but his interaction in How to Choose Your Dragon suggests that, in private, he may feel inadequate and underestimated because of his gender. While describing Stormfly and the Deadly Nader species, he stumbles and inadvertently gets drawn into the discussion.
Astrid is driven by emotions and, as a warrior, has sworn to protect his loved ones. In Team Aster, he blamed himself for his family's near-death during Dagur the Deranged's attack on Berk, despite knowing he could have done nothing to prevent it. His guilt and sense of responsibility toward his family compelled him to act immediately. In Fear to Move Forward, his innate pride and sense of duty led him to confront the Flying Nightmare alone, without regard for his own safety. Even as an adult, Aster is willing to rebel and defy direct orders to ensure the safety of those he loves.

Although this trait lessened with maturity, he can still be moody and somewhat of a perfectionist, especially before the integration of the dragons. Combined with his emotional personality, this can lead him to act impulsively and irrationally. In the first film, Aster focused solely on training and warfare, frequently isolating himself and ignoring the other teenagers. When Hiccup began to surpass him, Aster became visibly annoyed by his sudden improvements and even held his axe to Hiccup's neck. Driven by jealousy and suspicion, he began secretly following Hiccup, which eventually led him to question him in the cove.
Upon reaching adulthood, Aster became more balanced and level-headed, though he still displayed an intense temper in difficult situations. In Race to the Edge, he showed vulnerability and gentleness, and was less prone to violence; however, he reacted aggressively when others tried to help him.

Aster is an intelligent, flamboyant, disobedient, and immensely dedicated individual who used to be a staunch patriot of "Viking ways" until dragons became an integral part of Berk. Competitive by nature and highly committed, Aster works tirelessly to achieve his goals.

In How to Train Your Dragon, he was quite solitary and strove to become a better fighter. After bonding closely with Stormfly, Aster's focus shifted to becoming a dragon rider.

His determined and strong personality makes him difficult to impress. He has been described as having anger issues, being very aggressive, and having little patience.

Astrid Hofferson is a Viking warrior from the Hofferson clan of the Hairy Hooligan tribe. She is 15 years old in How to Train Your Dragon, 16 in Dragons: Rise of Berk, 18 in The Origin of Dragon Racing, 19 in Dragons: Race to the Edge, 20 in How to Train Your Dragon 2, 21 in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and 31 years old at the end of this film and in Coming Home.

Despite his initial hatred of dragons, he ends up training a deadly Nader named Stormfly.
