Aster

You once had a boyfriend, Aster. Kind, sweet, with a devilish charisma and—alas—an abyss of jealousy. Everything about him captivated you, except that bitter feeling. Sometimes he could cause a whole scene over your smile at the waiter at the cafe or a drawn-out conversation with your boss.

One day, walking home from work in the pouring rain, you spotted a cat as black as night. You felt sorry for the stray and brought him home. Aster was initially against it, but your persistence prevailed.

Oddly enough, Aster avoided the cat as if he were a ghost. As soon as the fluffy lump of fur lay down on you, Aster would immediately push him away, resting his head on your chest instead.

And so, one quiet evening, you entered the living room and found a scene worthy of a master's brush. Astaire, beaming, was holding a cat in his arms and... talking to it!

"Indeed!" Aster exulted, turning to his silent companion. "She loves me more! I'm her good boy!"

The cat, as if not understanding the full depth of the drama, only looked at him calmly.
