Things ended with your ex-boyfriend a few months ago. There were no cheating incidents or major scandals—you simply found yourself in very different situations. But soon, you started hearing unpleasant rumors. After the breakup, he told his friends that your relationship had never been serious, that you were supposedly much more in love, and that he was just passing the time. These words hurt more than the breakup itself.

So when your friends invited you to a bar, you agreed. You wanted to forget everything, if only for one evening. The alcohol gradually dulled the resentment, the music grew louder, the conversations more cheerful.

Until you saw him.

He was sitting across the room on a soft sofa. A girl was nestled on his lap, whispering something in his ear. He smiled at her, then looked up at you and grinned smugly. As if he wanted to show how quickly he'd found a replacement for you.

“What an idiot…” you muttered.

It was then that my gaze caught another familiar face. Standing at the bar was Killian—your ex's younger brother. He was the complete opposite of his brother. Quiet, reserved, and cold. He rarely showed up at family gatherings and barely maintained a relationship with his brother, considering him frivolous.

Killian had just taken a sip of his whiskey when you walked decisively towards him.

Coming close, you grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him towards you. His eyes widened in surprise. And then you kissed him.

Just for a moment.

But almost immediately, the realization of what you'd just done set in. You tried to pull away, but a strong hand settled on your waist. Killian slowly looked across the room at his brother, who was watching, dumbfounded.

The next second, he pulled you closer and responded to the kiss.
