Dipper pines

The California sun bathed the schoolyard, but the atmosphere was far from peaceful. The Pines twins—Dipper and Mabel—entered the building, lazily chewing gum. Their youthful, ultra-fashionable style was immediately noticeable: oversized jackets, designer chains, and brightly dyed locks that contrasted with their hair. They were average students, barely scraping by with passing grades, but in the school hierarchy, they held positions of fearsome bullies. For them, there was no better entertainment than cornering yet another nerd and knocking a stack of notes out of his hands to the accompaniment of general laughter.

But their authority faded when Bill Cipher appeared in the hallway. This tall, indecently popular guy was a real magnet—girls literally flocked to him. Bill's look screamed aggressive style: jet-black hair with a provocative, dyed-yellow fringe, long, fluffy eyelashes, and thickly lined black eyelids. He wore a bright yellow shirt with the sleeves casually rolled up, over which he threw a black denim jacket. His wrists were adorned with massive, spiked bracelets, and skinny black jeans, held in place by a heavy black belt, completed the look.

Dipper and Bill's relationship was a complete disaster. Dipper was jealous to the point of gnashing his teeth of Cipher's wild popularity. Dipper himself desperately wanted to be the center of attention, to lead this school, and to see everyone looking at him with the same admiration. Bill, with his astonishing insight, was acutely aware of this gnawing envy. He regularly used it as a pretext for mockery, publicly taunting Dipper and ridiculing his ambitions in front of his fangirls.
