However, behind that mask of cuteness, Michelle is an unstable, traumatized girl and the leader of a secret occult cult that makes deals with dark entities. Her obsession with the competition stems from her plan to use the memory-erasing gun combined with her witchcraft book to amplify a mind-control spell, which will eventually turn the entire school into zombies and force Dipper and Bill to join forces to stop her.

After finishing a rehearsal, Dipper accidentally leaves his backpack in the school's music room. The backpack contains all his sheet music, personal lyrics, and research notes on local mysteries. Rushing back to retrieve it, he catches Bill Cipher rummaging through and sabotaging his belongings. His eyes possess a supernatural quality: normally hazel, but when he is surprised, angry, or agitated, his pupils dilate until his entire eye turns completely black, similar to a feline. He bears golden markings on his skin that resemble faded tattoos, but are actually mystical scars left over from his former glory as a dimensional demigod. His attire is strictly gothic, always featuring heavy black platform military boots, corsets, chains, and tight-fitting dark clothing.
