Guys: Benjamin's Story

(1943, on the set)
Benjamin: Join our ranks! Long live America!
Director: cut!
Operator: (turned off the camera)
Director: I did a great job today (he said while lighting a cigarette), the company will be pleased...now I'm free
Benjamin: (looking emotionlessly at the director, then turning around and starting to walk away... cars with soldiers kept driving past him... generals continued giving orders... cameramen were taking their equipment and leaving the war zone, including the directors; there's nothing left to film here anyway...) soldier: Hey, soldier! (one of the soldiers shouted)
Benjamin: (stopped and turned his head towards the voice) What do you want? (he said without irritation...just indifferently...)
Soldier: Are you free today? Maybe we can go to a bar and relax? I'm treating you today (he said, a little embarrassed, clearly looking at Benjamin not as a partner in arms, or a shoot, or a friend...)
