Goal

Amakusa Shirou Tokisada's goal was nothing less than the salvation of all humanity. He didn't want wealth, power, or to become king of the world. He wanted to end human suffering forever. His plan was to use the Holy Grail to obtain and apply the Third Magic (Heaven's Feel) to all of humanity. This magic allows souls to materialize, enabling them to exist independently of the physical body. According to Amakusa:

Disease would disappear. Hunger would disappear. Death would lose its meaning. Wars and conflicts would end. No one would ever suffer again because of the limitations of the human body.

Incarnation

While incarnated, Shirou possessed the abilities of a normal human being for sixty years until he re-established a connection with the Grail in Romania. He continues to exhibit superhuman capabilities in this state, as he can easily run at speeds exceeding sixty kilometers per hour.

Fight

As a member of the Holy Church's Eighth Sacrament Assembly , Shirou possesses the ability to wield the Black Keys . These are conceptual weapons launched by Church agents, powerful enough to purify deceased apostles , but even their power is extraordinary and abnormal, proving particularly effective against the Nameless Vampire . Shirou is able to run and throw four keys without even looking back when using them to stop the "Black" Berserker ; he inserts a spell, previously activated by a word, into the hilts of his weapons to make them return to their target after being deflected. establish He is an adept swordsman who wields the enchanted Miike Tenta Mitsuyo when black keys are ineffective against his opponents. Shirou's sword technique is average, but he manages to fight extremely well due to his Noble Phantasms .

God's Resolution

is the highest privilege for the Ruler -class ability. Normally , the Ruler- class would possess two Command Spells for each Servant participating in the Holy Grail War. However, since Shirou is not a participant in the Great Holy Grail War, this ability has been lost. As a Master , Shirou only has three Command Spells for Assassin of the "Red." While leading the Red Faction, he ensures that the faction's Servants do not interact with or meet their respective Masters . And although he could steal the Command Spells by severing their arms, Shirou chooses to avoid this method. The reason is that he wants to avoid lying to Lancer of the "Red," who excels at detecting deception, so he opts to manipulate the Masters into peacefully surrendering the Command Spells and providing enough magical energy to establish his connection with the Greater Grail. Finally, he manages to obtain his command spells, and his arm is engraved with eighteen seals of Archer, Lancer, Rider, Berserker, Caster, and Assassin. Revelation is a personal ability equivalent to " Instinct ." Instinct is a sixth sense regarding battles, but Revelation encompasses all matters related to achieving a goal—for example, choosing the most suitable route while traveling. Since it has no basis—or so he believes—it cannot be properly explained to others. His Revelation stems from a vision created by his arm: if he were to study under Thomas Edison , Shirou would undergo a conceptual enhancement until he transformed into a rocket, leading to the birth of Amakusa Shirou.

Charisma is the natural talent for commanding an army. While it cannot lead a nation, it can inspire those with similar ties and strong relationships among comrades. Thanks to charisma, it is possible to make others believe in the content of the Revelation skill without any basis.

The Sacrament of Baptism is a type of sorcery effective against spiritual bodies. By linking their two Noble Phantasms , it's even possible to subject a Servant to a process of sublimation. Their Sacrament of Baptism is extraordinarily powerful for a human, and when used on the nameless vampire, who had once been Lancer of the "Black" and Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia , his very existence begins to melt away as he emits white smoke, evaporating to the last fragment of himself.

Skills

Shirou is summoned as a Ruler -class Servant . In reality, he was the closest thing to a " Saint " one could find in the Far East, but the sanctity of his tragic youth was never acknowledged. Amakusa Shirou became a Ruler through a conspiracy, and his summoning in the Third Holy Grail War led the system to believe he was qualified. Without the Human Order Incineration Protocol , the chances of summoning him would be extremely low, and as a Servant , he would be third-tier. While not outstanding in combat or proficient in sorcery to the level of a Caster -class Servant , Shirou continued to win and survive the Third Holy Grail War by remaining vigilant and not jeopardizing his position, fulfilling his duties even while consolidating his defenses. Since he is closer to being a sorcery user than a sorcerer , he can barely qualify as a Caster .

Due to a strange mechanism called faith, Shirou became capable of performing miracles after dying and becoming a Heroic Spirit . Therefore, he possesses two Noble Phantasms : Left Hand - Xanadu Matrix and Right Hand - Evil Eater . The unique nature of his Noble Phantasms allows his arms to be connected to the magical foundation , enabling him to use any type of sorcery with his. Upon being summoned as a Ruler , Shirou gains the class-specific ability True Name Discernment . Status information, such as true identity, ability, and parameters , is automatically revealed upon direct encounter with a Servant . This ability has limitations, as Servants with concealment capabilities, such as Saber of the Red 's Noble Phantasm Secret of Pedigree , can hide their identity; however, its effectiveness depends on his level of luck. Sent by the Church to oversee the Great Holy Grail War, he possesses the Spirit Tablet (霊器盤, Reiki Ban ) bestowed upon the supervisor to perfectly gauge the status of the fourteen Servants . Because his discernment ability requires him to directly encounter Servants to ascertain their status, Shirou must rely on the Spirit Tablet to track them and learn their identities. The board is particularly useful when Saber of "Black" commits suicide and Shirou suspects something is amiss, as his name does not completely disappear from the board.

Great Holy Grail War

The Sorcery Association decides to seek a Master from the Church to lend legitimacy to their cause, having already hypothesized the possibility of a Great War: an event with seven Servants against seven Servants occurring instead of a normal Holy Grail War. In such an abnormal situation, where even the previous Ruler had summoned their own Servant , the Great Grail automatically summons a Ruler , Jeanne d'Arc ; but Shirou had factored this into his calculations as an expected event. He quickly joins the Red Faction as a dual mediator and Master sent by the Holy Church, for which he receives a catalyst for Semiramis from the Sophia-Ri Familia , though it seems he managed to acquire three more catalysts on his own as a precaution after searching for nearly twenty years.

In this way, Shirou quickly summons Semiramis, and she asks him, "I am known as the world's oldest poisoner for a reason... Are you truly certain you can handle Queen Semiramis?" To which he replies, "Oh, Queen of Assyria, in this Great Holy Grail War, I aim not for victory or defeat, but for another objective. Will you aid me?" Although initially concerned by his strange nature, Assassin eventually comes to respect him and decides to help him achieve his dreams. They meet with five of the other Masters of the Red Faction, and she manages to manipulate them into allowing her to control their Servants .

After taking control of the five Servants , Shirou and Assassin witness the summoning of Archer and Rider of the "Red ." Pretending to act as a temporary mediator for the other Servants , they are suspicious of their presence and the fact that their Masters haven't revealed themselves.

Role

Unlike the timeline of the Third Holy Grail War in Fate/stay night , where the Einzbern family summons Angra Mainyu , an Avenger -class Servant , these Einzberns abuse one of the systems installed in the Greater Grail and summon Shirou as a Ruler -class Servant . Shirou was intended to be an impartial authority regulating the war's progress. The Einzberns wanted to summon a Heroic Spirit appropriate for the Ruler class rather than an unnamed Eastern hero. However, the act of summoning a Ruler was already a serious interference with the normal operational format of the Holy Grail War, so this was a compromise with the advantage of their Command Spells.

As the Third Holy Grail War drew to a close, the Einzberns were clearly closer to the Greater Grail than any other family. Shirou faced off against the Servant summoned by Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia in a fight to the death , and while his Master was killed in action, Shirou remained materialized due to his contact with the Greater Grail, which granted him flesh and blood. When Risei Kotomine rescued the Master from the Tohsaka clan, Shirou assisted him in the rescue operation; they were the only survivors after Darnic stole the Greater Grail from Fuyuki. Risei inquired about his future plans, to which he lied about renouncing the Grail and traveling the world.

Personality

In life, Shirou walked the path of suffering and despair. He and his companions fought for their faith and beliefs, and in return, they failed and died. At one point, he came to hate everything, from God to humans . He claims he hated the latter not because they had killed him and his companions, but because of how easily humanity accepted it as a recurring system in history where life has no price but also no value. He finds humanity to be like the Ouroboros , devouring itself to grow.

Shirou admitted his failure, death, and guilt, and afterward, he abandoned his hateful heart for the sake of humanity's salvation. He claims he no longer hates humans and that he will save the current six billion people, along with those of the past and future. The truth is that Shirou is trying to save them so he can forgive himself for not being able to save anyone. He wishes for everyone to cast aside their selfishness and create a world where they are safe and happy, for which he plans to use the Holy Grail . In simple terms, his request is for the happiness of the human race: to find the innate goodness in the heart of every human and the annihilation of all evil in the world .

Shirou appears to be a benign man with an innocent smile, but in reality, he's a manipulator who would destroy his opponent without a second thought to fulfill his own ambition. He's essentially a character who looks radiant on the outside but has a dark personality on the inside. Kairi believes he's far too wise for his supposed age.

For a mastermind, he is a good and virtuous being. Firstly, it's a matter of debate whether Shirou's actions were truly evil. On one hand, one could argue that he guided people along a slight shortcut to their eventual destination, but on the other, he sought to save not individuals, but the entire human race. Having no hobbies or personal interests, he lived for seventy years for the salvation of humanity. Even if his plans ultimately failed, the moment he saw the rising sun while lying in Assassin's lap was a moment of supreme bliss for Shirou.

Appearance

Shirou appears to be a young man with tanned skin, white hair, and dark gold eyes. His hair turned light as compensation for being forcibly incarnated, and his skin changed color afterward because he spent twenty years in the Middle East.

He wears the robes of a priest and a gold cross around his neck. His attire consists of a red shroud and a red stole over his cassock. He has an innocent, youthful face that suggests he is not yet twenty years old, an effect of Left Hand - Xanadu Matrix , but in reality, he was incarnated decades ago. He has the eternal appearance of a seventeen-year-old despite being older, and he has not matured emotionally despite the vast amount of knowledge and experience he has acquired. His body is covered in scars, and he has two command spells on his chest; the seals are very similar to those of Kirei Kotomine .

In his Servant form, he has long hair tied in a ponytail, and his attire is a blend of traditional samurai dress with European influences. He wears a jinbaori-style haori decorated with Christian crosses, as well as a traditional umanori hakama with shin guards and cloth straps. He wears a collared shirt under his kimono and a tie around his neck.

Death

Although they initially took the uprising lightly, the Edo Shogunate took it seriously after its punitive forces were defeated and sent Major Matsudaira Nobutsuna as supreme commander. Shirou led the defense of Hara Castle and defeated the strongest of the Shogunate's attackers in a series of coordinated defensive waves. Matsudaira Nobutsuna introduced starvation tactics to the rebel army entrenched in Hara Castle, estimating when they would run out of food and ammunition to launch his general offensive. It is said that 37,000 people, including Shirou, were massacred by the Shogunate forces, with the exception of a single traitor—though there are several theories about this.

After his rebellion failed, Shirou was sentenced to death by beheading. Before dying, he felt he had been naive as he witnessed his comrades being slowly murdered: old men being beheaded, men slaughtered like animals, babies pierced by spears, and girls raped and discarded in pursuit of lust. He was convinced that the countless lives lost were not taken by the enemy, but by himself. Shirou, without ever changing his expression, accepted this outcome with an iron will and found it impossible to surrender. He simply stared at the scene of ruin, revealing neither resignation nor sorrow, and even overcame the pain of his arms being severed. He accepted that he had lost, as well as the responsibility for the deaths of his comrades, and that his own end was inevitable. But the one thing he could not accept was that everything would crumble afterward, that after having wasted so many lives, nothing would be gained as a result.

Shimabara Rebellion

The rulers of the land, the Matsukura clan, had drastically raised taxes, causing famine and despair among the inhabitants. As a result, the people sought refuge in the loving words of Christianity, which could not be defeated by hunger, poverty, or despair. However, the Matsukura clan tried to steal their faith by escalating from exploitation to murder; and it was then that the people rose up in arms. Shirou, a young boy at the time, was among the rebels. No one knew if his presence there was a coincidence or the will of God, but before anyone realized it, he was leading them under the guidance of several rōnin . Before long, the former vassals of Konishi Yukinaga had him as their leader in the rebel army against the Edo Shogunate , and together with the peasants of Shimabara, who were suffering under the harsh realities of the time, they launched a full-scale insurrection. Since both sides stood to lose and win by rebelling, their battle should have neither defeat nor victory. The act of rebelling was necessary, and they did it for the sake of what they believed was important. The people concluded that sacrifices would be kept to a minimum, and that even if many people, including themselves, lost their lives, the world would not die but be reborn.

Shirou produced a miracle by achieving a victory that should have been impossible. In his own words, God had granted him miraculous power because he occasionally used evil for a good purpose, and unfortunately for him, he had achieved victory. Everyone went wild with excitement, clinging to Shirou like a miracle child for having won a battle where victory seemed unimaginable. This foolish purity of theirs unsettled him, for he believed they shouldn't have won because it wasn't an option. He had become fixated on saving lives in the near future and had finally lost sight of the bigger picture. While they had managed to bite a cornered cat, after being bitten, the enraged cat would retaliate by killing them.

Identity

Ruler's true name is Amakusa Shirou Tokisada, , the teenage leader of the Shimabara Rebellion . Born in the Edo period , he was a miracle child who could almost be called a saint . However, as was recently discovered, a good half of his life is shrouded in mystery. Focused on his studies from a young age, Shirou began performing miracles until he eventually came to be worshipped as a son of God by peasants who believed in a forbidden religion. The reality was that he had been a sorceress user ; someone who hadn't been taught thaumaturgy and had managed to use it naturally and sporadically. Since his use was subconscious, even he wasn't aware of it. It just so happened that he was born with the power to recreate miracles called "spells," and since no one around him pointed this out, he was revered as a miracle child. Even so, it's likely that Mori Souiken and his companions suppressed those rumors.
