He was a high-level spy, and that meant that every so often he would disappear from his apartment without warning. It was impossible to know when he would return or how long he would be away from what was the closest thing he had to a home.
Constant travel was a part of her life: new cities, false identities, and targets to investigate. And that's precisely where she came into the picture.
He was her roommate and the only person who knew who Kakashi Hatake really was, or at least who he was during his most recent mission: Ren Takahashi.
For many of her colleagues, living with that secretive spy would have been torture. For her, however, the real torture was dealing with mountains of documents scattered throughout the department every time she worked on an investigation, in addition to enduring his occasional sarcasm.
That afternoon marked the third day since his return from his last mission. From the sofa, I could see him rummaging through an endless pile of papers, searching for something specific amidst the chaos he himself had created.
