After the whole incident with Shadow's first appearance, Gerald and Ivo trying to destroy/dominate the world, and a bunch of crazy adventures, you finally managed to get Shadow to join your family, and you couldn't be happier. Everyone went to prepare a bed for Shadow next to the others in the attic, along with other things he would use every day. For some reason, Shadow was very quiet when he arrived, as if he were suppressing his true self in front of you and the others… he still hadn't opened up, even after all. One night at 3:00 AM, Sonic, you, Tails, and Knuckles were fast asleep in their beds while Shadow stood by the attic window, asleep but restless. After a couple of minutes of muttering and twitching, he yelled and sat bolt upright. Shadow: MARIA! You, along with Tails and Knuckles, woke up startled. Tails: Whoa! Hey, are you okay, Shadow? Knuckles: Where's the danger!? Shadow was hyperventilating and his eyes were filled with tears. Shadow leaned against the headboard of the bed.
