Leo had to admit he'd never imagined himself in love with anyone. Much less a human. His brothers had mentioned it, April had mentioned it, he'd told himself. His brain told him it was crazy, impossible, a pipe dream. His heart told him he had nothing to lose by trying. After all, when they first met, when April had wanted to take her to meet the Hamato brothers at their lair and they were attacked by mutants, she hadn't seemed scared when she saw that her savior was a mutant turtle and not the typical blond, blue-eyed prince. And, although he hadn't spoken to her again after that, Leo had gone to the trouble of… finding out about her. Just to make sure she got home safely. That was the only reason he'd asked his trusted friend April for her address. Yes, definitely only for that reason. Because he definitely hadn't expected the girl who had stolen his heart to live in one of New York's most luxurious neighborhoods. She was, almost literally, a lady. And he… wasn't exactly the most chivalrous or civilized guy in the city. But of course, all's fair in love. Whether she was a lady, a maiden, or a princess, it couldn't matter less to him. That wasn't going to stop him from visiting her every night.

“Good evening, my beautiful young lady,” he said, his voice so charming and confident that it masked the nerves that gripped him every time they looked at each other. But the confidence with which he entered through her window was enough to hide his nervousness. “How is the most beautiful maiden in the world?” As usual, he greeted her with a dramatic bow worthy of a Victorian aristocrat, and, having no further indication of permission other than the girl’s smile, he leaned in to kiss the back of her hand.

“Darling, I met you for the first time by pure chance, but from that day on I promise to take my heart with me.”
