Espresso Cookie exudes a carefully calculated confidence, without sacrificing discretion. A pragmatic intellectual, he detests wasting time and feels a deep contempt for illogical endeavors such as White Magic and the veneration of the Divine in the Republic of Cream.

Espresso Cookie belongs to the same race as the Coffee Tribe of the Dark Cocoa Kingdom, but he hails from the same culturally rich Republic as Madeleine Cookie: the Republic of Cream. It is currently unknown how he or his ancestors traveled there from the mainland. While Espresso Cookie's physical attributes and ingredients make him incredibly similar to the Coffee Tribe people, his lifestyle, activities, clothing, and so on, seem to directly contrast with what is considered typical of that culture. One possibility is that he was born in the Tribe's village and left it at some point, or that he was the child of other Coffee Tribe members who left the village to live in the Republic.

Espresso Cookie despises Light Magic, which partly fuels his initial resentment toward Madeleine Cookie. The social divide in the Republic of Crema between Upper Town—the affluent district that worships light—and Lower Town, Espresso Cookie's less wealthy hometown, likely plays a role in this.

The Coffee Tribe is a race of Biscuits originating from Coffee Village, within the borders of the Dark Cocoa Kingdom. They are known for their great agility and their ability to function without sleep for extended periods of time.

Currently, the only place where the tribe is known to have lived has been abandoned and is in ruins.

The Cookies of the Coffee Tribe live next to the Dark Cocoa Kingdom in their tent settlement. They are fast and agile, and have been known to go several nights without sleep. These characteristics allow them to work as scouts, infiltrators, and messengers for the Kingdom. Due to their high caffeine content, their pupils are always constricted.

The Dark Cocoa Kingdom, sometimes simply called Dark Cocoa, is a kingdom founded by Dark Cocoa Cookie. Due to the dethronement of his son and prince of the kingdom, Dark Chocolate Cookie, Dark Cocoa Cookie remains the only member of the kingdom's royal family.

The researcher's attire is appropriately inspired by dark academia fashion with gothic or fantasy touches. Espresso Cookie's outfit consists of two layers, the outermost being an elaborate cloak lined with steel and fine stripes. [2] The cloak's collar is large, round, and dramatic with curved corners, silhouetting his entire head and featuring a lining in colors opposite to those of the cloak's main lining. A stole in the same color as the main coat rests on her shoulders, its triangular ends reaching to her waist and adorned with diamond-shaped details in shades of brown and pink, reminiscent of watching eyes. A risotto-colored stand-up collar sits atop the stole, covering her chin. She wears a red tie with two diamond-shaped knots. Her long sleeves are finished with dusty-brown diamond-shaped cufflinks. She wears charcoal-colored trousers or tights, with no visible shoes.

Espresso Cookie is a cookie of average height and slender build with somewhat thick legs. His color palette is generally very dark, melancholic, and brown, with even the lighter values ​​being warm mid-tones, and his shape language consists mainly of sharp triangles with some circular complements. At his base, his dough is a rich dark sienna, while his smug eye is lined with long, thick Van Dyke brown lashes. Espresso Cookie's iris is a muted dusty rose and sits beneath a sharp pupil, indicating his Coffee Tribe origins and making the inside of his eye resemble a coffee bean. Only the wizard's left eye is visible, as the other is hidden under his hair. His thin eyebrows are playfully raised, and his black smile is slight and confident. He also wears oversized metallic white-gold glasses whose lenses resemble a coffee cup viewed from above.

Espresso Cookie's hair is straight and ebony-violet at the roots. Her style is quite intricate: it features a long, curly fringe that sweeps down the right side of her face, completely framing her eye and reaching almost to her chin. It ends in a point, swept back from her face, and is flecked with subtle highlights: from the outside in, two are thick and warm tungsten, one is fine and black, and the last borders the inside of her hair in a creamy beige, ending in a prominent whorl at the top of her head. The rest of her hair is styled back in curled strands that radiate from the sides of her head. The back of her hair sports a large whorl similar to her fringe, radiating from her scalp. Although much of its length is integrated into her hair, Espresso Cookie's hair is long enough to be styled into a ponytail.

Espresso Cookie is a serious, self-important, and intellectual perfectionist who performs his tasks with absolute precision. He speaks with a formal, calm accent and is usually brief, to the point of being impolite. His facial expression is typically a serene and confident smile, but there are times when he doesn't bother to hide his displeasure or weariness (such as when faced with an avoidable failure or Madeleine Cookie's verbosity). Despite this, he is capable of being polite in his conversations with other Cookies and takes an interest in their actions, as when he asked to read a report on Alchemist Cookie's reagents.

Due to his status as a respected wizard, he takes immense pride in his expertise and in Coffee Magic, though he is open to outside suggestions as long as they are constructive. In his work, Espresso Cookie is extremely meticulous and observant, refusing to allow any margin of error. According to Latte Cookie, he hates joint research projects, which can extend to all tasks requiring cooperation; in the search for Soul Jam, he chose to separate from Madeleine Cookie rather than work alongside him. However, he is still capable of collaborating if the situation demands it; the fact that he carried Madeleine Cookie back to the kingdom after they were both injured during the story of Couldn't Care Less... And Yet demonstrates his true nature as someone honorable and kind-hearted despite his personal dislike for his partner.
