Malcolm Wilkerson

Stevie is a child prodigy with exceptional intelligence, which places him in the Krelboyne class and makes him nearly as intelligent as Malcolm. Although he is usually a happy and easygoing child, being in a wheelchair makes life difficult for him. Stevie rarely complains about his situation, nor does he let it affect him, mainly because he has lived this way his whole life and is used to it. The only time he mentions his disadvantage is when someone else complains about their bad luck, when they are in a much better situation than he is. Another consequence of Stevie's disability is that his parents worry twice as much about his well-being and overprotect him, making him a bit of a "bubble boy." Because his mother leaves him later in the series, this trait of his personality gradually fades away.

Stevie has a sarcastic side; he has tricked Malcolm and Reese on numerous occasions, and has even managed to physically defeat Reese on occasion. H).

Reese is widely disliked due to his psychopathic personality and, generally, his own family. He has very little (if any) empathy and enjoys doing evil for sheer pleasure. He is quite cowardly when things get tough and doesn't hesitate to betray members of his own family to save himself. However, Reese has shown himself capable of empathy in certain situations. His mother is Lois Wilkerson, his father Hal Wilkerson, and his older brother Francis Wilkerson. Malcolm Wilkerson and Dewey Wilkerson are also involved.

Personality Francis is characterized as a rebellious, impulsive individual, deeply opposed to any authority figure. From childhood, he displayed problematic and difficult-to-manage behavior, leading his mother, Lois, to impose extremely strict discipline. This dynamic only intensified his rebelliousness, generating a conflictive relationship based on constant disobedience. His mother is Lois Wilkerson, his father is Hal Wilkerson His brother is Reese Wilkerson, Malcolm Wilkerson, and Dewey Wilkerson.

Much of Dewey's behavior is a response to the family and school dynamics he faces. He is highly intelligent, courageous, and can manipulate others when it suits him to achieve a specific goal. Initially, he is more naive, immature, and clumsy, but he learns from his experiences and develops considerable cunning. He comes across as a generally good person and the least destructive of his siblings. He doesn't enjoy causing trouble for the sheer fun of it, like his older brothers, although he sometimes gets into trouble with them and does enjoy it. Despite his intelligence, his siblings can deceive him and occasionally mock him to make him take the blame or simply to humiliate and bully him. However, this drives him to develop cunning and seek to prove that he is not inferior and should not be dominated. The key to understanding where Dewey will cause trouble or inflict pain or humiliation on someone, including adults, is to understand that his actions are not those of someone who attacks thoughtlessly hoping to harm someone; They are calculated to achieve a specific result: to demonstrate to others that he is not inferior, that he is not a pawn, and that he will exact a price for mistreating him or others he cares about, such as the Buseys.

Hal Wilkerson

Hal is an emotionally immature, impulsive, and clumsy man who often displays stubbornness, arrogance, recklessness, and naiveté. Despite this, he is usually kind, caring, and well-intentioned, though his ethics and parenting skills are highly questionable. Unlike Lois, Hal is neither intimidating nor particularly strict, which leads his children to have little respect for him and find it easy to deceive him without remorse. However, they tend to prefer him to Lois because of his more affable nature. Despite appearing kind and permissive, Hal is, at heart, an incompetent and negligent father. He frequently puts his own comfort before his children's well-being and is more than willing to betray them to avoid Lois's punishment. He consistently underestimates his children, most notably in "Hal's Christmas Gift," where he expects them to give him cheap homemade gifts while he plans to give them poor-quality presents in return. He has been especially negligent with Francis, Dewey, and Jamie, forgetting birthdays and important moments in their lives and often completely neglecting their upbringing. Despite his many flaws, Hal possesses a profound capacity to love his family. In his later years, he continues to demonstrate an overwhelming affection for Lois and begins to experience empty nest syndrome after his children leave home. Although still emotionally immature, he shows some progress as a father and begins to reflect on his past mistakes. After discovering Malcolm's resentment toward him, Lois, and the rest of the family, and after being betrayed and humiliated by Reese, Hal falls into a deep depression that leads to an existential crisis. During this experience, he finally understands that, despite all the conflicts and disappointments, his love for Lois and his children is unconditional and that he will never stop loving them deeply. Personality Lois is a hardworking and devoted woman who is completely committed to her husband and children. She is known for her severe temper and frequent outbursts of anger, but this stems largely from the immense mental and emotional burden she carries. Lois struggles to let go and accept that she can be wrong, a trait reinforced by Hal's allowing her to play the "bad cop" while he avoids all responsibility. Being forced into this position has caused Lois to develop an increasingly controlling personality. She keeps a close eye on her sons because she knows they are prone to making bad decisions and engaging in destructive behavior, and most of the time, her suspicions are justified.
