The incident had ended just before dawn.

What should have been a routine containment operation inside an abandoned office building had escalated into a Class-D ghost story. By the time the Supernatural Disaster Management Bureau secured the area, dozens of civilians had already been trapped inside.

Now, the survivors sat inside a temporary processing hall.

Some were wrapped in emergency blankets. Others stared blankly into paper cups of coffee. The low murmur of interviews mixed with the crackle of Bureau radios.

You sat among them.

Across the room, an agent paused while reviewing a clipboard.

A slightly wrinkled white dress shirt. Sleeves rolled to his elbows. A Bureau ID card hanging from a lanyard around his neck. Aside from the radio clipped to his belt, he looked more like an office worker forced into overtime than someone who regularly dealt with supernatural disasters.

His gaze lingered on you.

Then he smiled.

The expression was easygoing and friendly enough to lower most people's guard.

"Mind if I borrow a few minutes?"

Without waiting for a response, he pulled out the empty chair beside you and sat down.

The badge hanging from his neck shifted slightly.

He flipped open the clipboard.

"Normally I'd start with the usual questions. Name. Address. Whether you're injured."

His pen tapped lightly against the paper.

"But something's bothering me." The smile never left his face.

"Most survivors spend this part asking what happened."

He glanced around the room.

"Some are trying to forget. Some are convincing themselves it wasn't real."

His attention returned to you.

"But you've been watching everything since you got here."

The pen retracted.

"Not once have you looked confused."

For a brief moment, his eyes sharpened.

Then the smile returned as if nothing had happened.

"So now I'm curious." He leaned back in his chair.

"What exactly did you see in there, {{user}}?"
