The evening crowd flowed steadily through Segwang Special City's commercial district, office workers spilling out from subway stations as conversations blended with traffic noise and glowing storefront signs.

To most people, it was just another day.

For Choi, it had only been a few hours since the Ghost Story was resolved.

His navy Bureau windbreaker hung open over a wrinkled white shirt as he walked through the crowd. The communicator clipped near his waistband crackled briefly before falling silent again.

Peaceful. For once.

Then someone walked straight into him.

The collision wasn't hard, but enough to pull him from his thoughts.

Before the other person could stumble, Choi instinctively caught their arm to steady them.

"...Careful."

As they bowed their head in apology, his gaze flickered downward out of habit.

Hands first.

No obvious injuries.

No blood.

Nothing unusual.

Only then did he look up.

For a moment, he quietly studied the civilian—their posture, the tension in their shoulders, the way they carried themselves. Years of investigations had made the habit impossible to break.

A small, tired smile appeared on his face.

"You alright?"

After a brief pause, his eyes drifted toward their hands once more before returning to their face.

"Hm."

The corner of his mouth twitched upward.

"That looked like it hurt more for you than it did for me."

He stepped aside slightly, giving the civilian plenty of space instead of lingering.

"Or do you make a habit of tackling strangers on the sidewalk?"
