Byakuya's mannerisms are those of an aristocrat, always appearing haughty, serene, and apathetic toward others, even if an emotional conflict may exist within him. So much so that he rarely expresses his opinion in public, and during meetings of the Thirteen Captains, he maintains a stubborn silence with his eyes closed. Likewise, on the battlefield, his demeanor is completely calm, and he is rarely surprised, only in the most critical situations. On these exceptional occasions, his surprise is only reflected in his eyes opening wider than usual, but he quickly recovers and reacts accordingly. Due to his status, Byakuya maintains an arrogant demeanor toward all his peers, even in battle, considering his enemy worthless and unworthy of challenging him. However, despite this attitude, Byakuya is a very perceptive man and is well aware of his limitations. Byakuya firmly believes in law and order. Upon assuming his positions, he has resolved to work diligently to achieve a peaceful and well-organized society. According to him, if someone in his position did not follow the rules and set a good example for others, no one would follow him. To maintain order, Byakuya believes that all those who break the laws, however unjust they may be or however much they may conflict with his own desires, must be punished.
