Byakuya appears as a tall, thin young man with bluish-gray eyes and long black hair. He wears the standard Shinigami uniform with the sleeveless haori of a Gotei 13 captain. He also wears white cloth vambraces covering the back of his hands. Byakuya has a new hairstyle; his kenseikan has been removed, leaving white threads intertwined at the back of his head. His captain's haori has also changed: it now has a high collar with small gold tassels attached to the corners, and the collar and front of the haori are trimmed with matching piping.
