Donatello is the brains of the team and a natural mechanical wizard when it comes to technology or fixing things

Donatello is the most scientific minded Turtle, and is responsible for the creations of most of the Turtles' high-tech equipment, including the Turtle Van, the Turtle Communicators , and the Turtle Blimp. He also managed to build a working inter-dimensional portal though it is unknown how he found the necessary equipment to do so. He also thwarted a super knowledgeable Slash without any assistance.

He wears a purple bandana and, as with his other incarnations, he carries a Bō staff.

The running gag in the daily basis was that Donatello's inventions usually had the habit of breaking down or blowing up in his face, although there were many times the team relied on him whenever they were faced with scientific or mechanical problems.

In the rare moments when Leonardo was not avaible, Donatello usually takes on the role as the group leader. Despite this, he also seemed the least self-sacrificial when it came to combat, preferring to find alternative ways out of bad situations.

When Leonardo declared that they would go down fighting "like real turtles," Donatello's response was that he'd prefer to go on living, like a mock turtle.

However, Donatello is capable of great aggression when it has his patience done

Raphael is a cynical and sarcastic mutant turtle. As a member of the Ninja Turtles, he uses his sai and mastery of Ninjutsu to fight superpowered threats such as the Foot Clan and Krang in New York City.

Raphael's personality is a bit different from a personal point of view.

Raphael is still rude, tough, and a sarcastic character, but he's more of a smart aleck who makes wise cracks than a hot head with anger issues.

However, Raphael can get bitter or temperamental when annoyed or upset, but he doesn't get into a violent rage like his others expect.

However, Raphael’s temper does become more pronounced (although still not as bad as hit could be)

Raphael is happy that Leonardo is the leader of the team.

Sometimes when Leonardo shouts a heroic line, Raphael would quickly mock him. Also, if Leonardo's plan failed, Raphael would sometimes challenge him to reconsider and re-evaluate the plan by saying, "Now what, fearless leader?" Before the first plan is even dished out, Raphael sometimes would be reluctant about it, despite taking that order.

One time Raphael did almost made Leonardo into a fight and challenged Leonardo's leadership, when he suggested that they need a new leader.

Leonardo is the most serious and responsible of the group,he works and serves as the leader of the team. He is also the oldest of the Turtles,being 19

Leonardo was a pet turtle along with three others who had been bought by a boy, but the boy tripped and the four turtles fell into a sewer drain.

At the time, Hamato Yoshi had been hiding in the sewer from his enemy, Oroku Saki, and had become a friend of the rats living down there.

Hamato was overjoyed to find four new friends, and welcomed the turtles into his home. At some point after, Hamato noticed the turtles covered in a glowing substance, and he touched the substance himself.

The turtles had most recently poked Yoshi, causing them to quickly evolve into humanlike turtles. Hamato, having just been exposed to the rats, became a human rat.

Hamato saw the turtles' potential to challenge the one responsible for the mutations to change him back to a human, and trained them in the art of ninjutsu, and naming them after some of his favorite Renaissance artists

After that, Hamato Yoshi raised the turtles by himself to their 18 birthday and gave them the names of his favorite Renaissance artists: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo, who were to be distinguished by personality, unique weapon and bandana color.

He also taught them the art of ninjutsu in order to protect themselves better, since people above ground would not accept them. Hamato Yoshi was given the nickname "Splinter" by his students, because of his proficiency at breaking wooden boards.

Splinter does not hold a father/son relationship with the Turtles, as it is suggested, but more of a teacher/student bond.

In fact,he has never called them son but only by their name

Splinter showed a glimpse of fatherly concern for Leonardo when he was slightly injured by one of Donatello's contraptions.

Splinter also mentions that Leonardo is his most gifted student.

In addition to having Shredder as a nemesis, Splinter also clashed with the Rat King on several occasions.

He was vulnerable to the Rat King's influence because of his nature as a mutant rat, and initially was brainwashed into trying to kill the Turtles. However, the Rat King's control over him waned with time, until an event.

when Splinter showed himself to not only be immune to the Rat King's power, but also able to mentally influence his rats away from him.

When Yoshi lived in Japan, there was a ninja clan known as The Foot, which was led by Yoshi. One of his students, Oroku Saki, constantly challenged him in an effort to usurp his leadership, finally causing him to be banished from the clan by framing him for attemptedharm Yoshi fled to the United States in poverty.

He was forced to live in the sewers, where he befriended the rats. One day, a small child was returning from a pet store, carrying four baby turtles in a fishbowl.

The boy tripped and fell, causing the bowl to crash on the street and the turtles to fall into a drain, where they fell onto Yoshi.

One day, Yoshi returned home to find the turtles crawling in a glowing "goo", which he later realizes was actually some kind of mutagen that caused whoever touched it to take the form of the animal it most recently came in contact with.

The turtles became humanized, with their recent contact with Yoshi (due to his attempt to clean them up), and Yoshi becomes a mutant rat with his recent contact with rats.
