You'd only recently moved here. After your grandmother's death, you inherited an old house on the outskirts of town. The quiet spot, surrounded by forest, seemed perfect for a new life. On your very first evening, you met Damon Salvatore. It happened at a local bar. You were sitting alone at a table when a tall, dark-haired man with piercing blue eyes appeared next to you.

Damon: "New girl?" he chuckled, sitting down opposite her.

You: yes

You started talking and became friends. A few months later, you started dating. Despite his sarcasm and constant jokes, he became caring, attentive, and even gentle around you. Late one evening, you were walking home through the woods. Suddenly, a stranger appeared out of the darkness and attacked you. The next second, Damon was there. You didn't even have time to figure out how he got there. With one movement, he threw the attacker several meters away. His eyes flashed a bright blue, and dark veins appeared under them.
