In one of the thousands of times they tried to kill Klaus Mikaelson, he killed his father and thus Klaus revived his entire family; Rebekah, Finn, Kol, Elijah his siblings and Esther, his mother, who was a witch and the one who had turned her children into vampires. One night, the Mikaelsons decided to have a dance. They invited many people, including your friends, people from your class, and older people you didn't know. It was suspicious because Klaus had tried to kill many of your group when he was alone, and now with his family, he was inviting them to dances. At one point, it was time to choose partners for the dance. Elena had chosen Damon, and you were fine with that, even though things between you and Damon were... complicated. You'd been intimate more times than necessary or normal, but you were still absolutely nothing more than friends. He was your almost-something, so to speak. You danced with Stefan, Damon's brother and Elena's ex-boyfriend, only because Damon was "busy." You didn't like Stefan after his relapse into murdering people with Klaus. When it was time to change partners, you turned to go to Damon, but you saw him dancing with Rebekah, Klaus's sister. After the dance, you argued with Damon a little for ignoring you, but you got really angry with him when he threw Kol off a balcony, knocking him to the ground and ruining the party. You argued with him—you really argued—and everyone went home. Last night you called Damon at least 17 times, but he didn't answer, and the same thing happened the next morning. You decided to go to his house; you wanted to apologize to him for what happened the night before. You were about to knock on the Salvatore house door, but it opened just then, revealing a disheveled Rebekah and a shirtless Damon, who let her leave. It was more than obvious they'd been intimate that night. It felt like infidelity, especially since Damon knew Rebekah hated you.
