Smeshariki
Smeshariki is nine little animals, surrounded by a circle, living in their own fairytale land and solving problems through communication. In a world without violence (the idea the show's creators adhere to), there are no enemies, plots, or plans to destroy the planet, no superheroes, and no noble robbers. Instead, it's full of humor, good humor, and significant events worth reflecting on and learning from. However, you won't find any overt moralizing or preachy tone in Smeshariki. There is a moral in the stories, but it's felt rather than stated.

Smeshariki (since 2003) is an animated series about spherical characters in Romashkova Valley. In short episodes, the Smeshariki (Krosh, Yozhik, Nyusha, Barash, Losyash, Pin, Kar-Karych, Sovunya, and others) find themselves in everyday and unusual situations, learning to be friends, resolve conflicts, and explore the world; the episodes feature both humor and philosophical themes.
The first seasons (until 2012) set the tone and developed the characters' personalities. In 2011, the film "Smeshariki: The Beginning" was released: the characters find themselves in a big city and save the world. Since 2020, the series has returned with new episodes, maintaining the style and ideas of the original.
There are spin-offs: "Pin-Code" (popular science adventures), "Azbuka Smeshariki" (educational stories), and "Smeshariki. New Adventures" (an expanded story format). The full-length films "Smeshariki. Legend of the Golden Dragon" and "Smeshariki. Deja Vu" are large-scale adventures with travel and fantasy elements. Special episodes have also been released for holidays and anniversaries. By 2026, the franchise will encompass a series, films, educational series, and new projects, while remaining focused on friendship, curiosity, and mutual support.

Due to this overprotection, Losyash becomes indignant and then "disappears" altogether. It turns out he's hiding in that very labyrinth. Good intentions can go too far, and reminds us of the importance of respecting nature.

She shares a sad story from her youth: Once, she was deeply offended by a friend, waited for his apology, and then proudly refused to accept it and, as a result, lost this friendship forever. Remembering this, Sovunya regrets that she couldn't forgive. Sorting through an old chest together, Nyusha finds in the glued pages of an old magazine the very same apology from Sovunya's old friend, which she never read. Seeing them, Sovunya cries: So many years have passed, and she missed the chance to fix everything. This story makes Nyusha think. She hurries to Barash to make peace. Barash, meanwhile, is also tormented by feelings of guilt. In the end, they meet and finally sincerely apologize to each other. Asking for forgiveness is not weakness, but a manifestation of concern for friendship.

A delighted Krosh wakes his friend.
Without anyone: The Smeshariki are playing forfeits at Nyusha's birthday party. Hedgehog is tasked with going into the dark forest at night "without anyone." In the forest, Hedgehog initially tries to stay alert, but the shadows begin to frighten him. He runs in a panic and falls into a well. While he's trying to get out, it starts to rain. At one point, Hedgehog almost despairs, but he finally finds the strength to make one last attempt and manages to get out. The rain stops, and the stars light up in the sky. Hedgehog emerges from the forest. The next day, his friends ask Hedgehog about his adventure.

Loneliness prompted the young scientist to break into the biology lab and secretly clone himself. At first, Losyash and his clone played pranks together, but over time, the moose matured, became polite and kind, and made friends. The clone did not like these changes: He continued to misbehave and began to stalk Losyash and his new friends, trying to return him to the "path of bad manners." Losyash went to the Smeshariki Valley, hoping to hide, but the clone finally found him. Pin offers Send the clone on a submarine to Fatherland, the penguin's homeland, where, according to him, the hooligan will be re-educated. A chase begins: They catch someone, put him in a bag, and send him away in the submarine. Karych approves the idea and schedules a rehearsal for the same day. Kar-Karych puts Yozhik in charge, and Krosh helps "intimidate" the others: those who disagree are written down in a notebook. Losyash's team (red): Krosh, Yozhik, goalkeeper Kar-Karych. Referee: Sovunya. In the first half, Kar-Karych accidentally scores an own goal. Score: 1:0 in favor of Kopatych's team. A break is called.
"Football. Second half." Hedgehog evens the score (1:1). Krosh scores from a free kick (2:1 in favor of Losyash). Nyusha scores into an empty net (2:2). The captains try to influence the game (Losyash writes down tactics, Kopatych shouts), but, having simultaneously kicked the ball, they collapse in pain. The match ends in a draw. Conclusion: Both attitude and tactics are equally important.
ARI: Losyash has caught a cold, and his friends are lovingly treating him. Barash is jealous and wants to get sick too, so he can get attention and sweets. He chews on an icicle and swims in an icy lake, but remains healthy. However, Krosh and Yozhik, who rescued him, catch an ARI. When Sovunya is about to give them twenty shots, Barash gets scared and realizes: being sick isn't so great. In the end, he sneezes—perhaps he is getting sick after all.
Dream Maker: Barash discovers he can create dreams for others. Nyusha, counting rams, falls into a dream and orders the sea, a yacht, and a prince. Later, the other Smeshariki ask Barash for their dreams. Meanwhile, Barash himself doesn't get enough sleep and never dreams of his own. His friends decide to help him: Nyusha, in the guise of a fairy, invites Barash to make a wish, and he asks her to finally fall asleep. Everything ends well.
In the Beginning Was the Word: Kar-karych writes a chronicle and claims that Barash didn't ride down the slide out of fear. Barash is outraged and tears up the record. After this, all the Smeshariki begin to invent their own versions of events: Someone writes fairy tales, carves pictures on the pyramid, records audio. Confusion ensues. Kar-karych proposes a solution: everyone agrees to appoint a duty chronicler to keep objective records. Meaning: The same story can appear differently, depending on the storyteller.
Series.
A pedagogical poem: Kar-Karych tries to teach Krosh to fall asleep when he claps his hands. After 232 attempts, he succeeds, but now Krosh falls asleep to any clap (for example, when Kopatych slaps his forehead). Losyash suggests developing a reverse reflex so that the clap wakes Krosh. The plan works during the day, but at night Krosh wakes up to applause on the radio and throws a pillow at it in irritation.
Farewell, Barash!: Barash dreamily talks about sea voyages in the bathroom. Kar-Karych takes this seriously and organizes a "round-the-world" trip: Krosh and Yozhik build a raft called "Uragan," Kopatych provides provisions, Sovunya provides medicine, Nyusha is touched. At the ceremonial farewell, Nyusha accidentally collapses Kopatych's warehouse, and the harvest sinks the raft. Barash is indignant and exclaims angrily: "You might as well send me to the moon!" Kar-Karych is fired up with a new idea.
Miss Universe: Nyusha wins a local beauty pageant, and her friends send her to Miss Universe, but she's rejected: She doesn't meet the standards. Upset, Nyusha withdraws into herself, but the Kikoriki support her: Kar-Karych announces that the valley is separating from the Universe and establishing its own pageant, where Nyusha is the ideal candidate. Ultimately, she agrees to accept the title, ending the episode with the phrase, "Why would I need this? I don't know!"
"-41°C": Krosh and Yozhik find an ice statue of Nyusha at -41°C and mistake it for their frozen friend. They bring "Nyusha" into the house and try to warm her up, but she melts. On their way to Losyash for help, the friends see more Smeshariki statues and decide everyone is frozen, until Losyash explains that they are his ice sculptures from an exhibition (including the very same Nyusha statue). Losyash invites his friends for tea, but the stunned Krosh and Yozhik remain outside, unable to come to terms with what just happened.
Series.
A Long Fishing Trip: Losyash and Kopatych go fishing. A dispute over bait (cacti) and discarded fish causes the boat to accelerate, fly toward a waterfall, hit a rock, and get stuck in a tree in the forest. The friends, unable to see that they are almost at the ground because of the foliage, try to estimate their height: the fishing rod gets stuck in a crevice, the rock in a spider web. They spend the night hungry (Losyash eats cacti, Kopatych sandwiches), and in the morning the tree bends and they find themselves on land. Ultimately, they agree to fish from the shore next time and without reference books. Saying goodbye, Losyash and Kopatych exchange their usual phrases.
Renovation is a team effort: Krosh starts a renovation and takes turns staying with his friends Yozhik, Kopatych, Pin, Losyash, Sovunya, and Kar-Karych. His restlessness causes them problems and ultimately leaves him homeless. Then all the Smeshariki team up and help Krosh finish the renovation. Kar-Karych sums it up: "Whatever you say, neighbor, renovation is a team effort!" In the end, the friends decide to renovate each of their own homes and stay with Krosh for now. All ends well.
The Promise: Krosh and Hedgehog set off in search of a magic herb. According to legend, its flowers help one become big and smart. Along the way, they meet a crying Nyusha; she has lost her favorite toy, a plush dog named Tuzya. Hedgehog promises Nyusha to find it. The piglet remembers where she was with Tuzya: running after a dragonfly, swinging on a swing, visiting an apiary, and so on. Krosh urges his friend to go to the magic herb; it is about to bloom, but Hedgehog, tormented by his conscience, decides to fulfill his promise first. He goes around all the places where the toy could have been lost, but to no avail. It starts to rain, Hedgehog slips and falls into a puddle and unexpectedly finds Tuzya there. Krosh managed to try the magic herb, and brought the rest for Hedgehog, but they are no longer They work. Krosh promises his friend to never abandon him. In the end, Krosh falls asleep on the porch of Hedgehog's house.
Series.
Archaeology: Kar-Karych advises Kopatych to tell Krosh and Hedgehog that treasure is buried on his property so they can help him dig up the garden. The boys begin excavating and unexpectedly discover an ancient arch with columns. Attempts to examine the find lead to the collapse of the arch: Kopatych's house and chess table fall into the resulting ravine. His friends console him by saying that one day the house will become a valuable find for archaeologists. Kopatych is upset: He forgot to take out the trash; he is ashamed that archaeologists will see the mess in his house.
Meteorology: Kar-Karych explains the persistent rain with the legend of the Moon Raven, and Losyash uses science and predicts clear weather. The forecast doesn't come true. Kar-Karych dances with a tambourine, and the rain stops. Krosh and Hedgehog believe in magic, but Losyash thinks it's a coincidence. The next day, Losyash himself dances with a tambourine to make it +30°C, and Kar-Karych immediately tells him a new legend about the Fire Hare on the Sun. Losyash listens attentively and writes down: After all, meteorology is an exact science!
Disco Dancer: Barash can't dance and wants to win a best dance competition to gain recognition (on Nyusha's advice). He persuades the former king of disco, Kopatych, to become his teacher. After intense training (running with buckets, jumping rope, etc.), Barash prepares for his performance, receives Kopatych's signature star-shaped glasses, and arrives at the disco. But on the evening of the competition, Sovunya puts on a waltz instead of a disco dance. It turns out disco is out of fashion. Upset, Barash leaves the dance floor after meeting Kopatych. He finally understands: Fashion changes, but a true dancer is true to the disco rhythm.
Soap opera: Losyash and Kar-Karych argue about whether anyone can go unnoticed if they pour liquid soap instead of tea. Losyash eats a bar of soap (washing it down with tea) and wins a piano from Kar-Karych. Then Kar-Karych, in order to get the piano back, also eats the soap. In the end, they both realize the argument was absurd. Losyash sums it up: "My friend, don't you think we both stayed the same, but at the same time... we ate soap?"
Series.
Little Big Sea: Krosh and Hedgehog initially clean the beach of trash, but soon a huge black spot from car waste appears in the sea. The Smeshariki try to save the lagoon, recognizing the importance of caring for nature. Even small actions can have serious consequences for the environment.

The adult Smeshariki (Kar-Karych, Kopatych, Sovunya, and Losyash) decide to keep the children's faith in miracles alive and secretly deliver gifts. Are they thinking about you in the stars? Kopatych discovers a portrait of Hedgehog on his field. Hedgehog explains: "I drew it for the inhabitants of the stars, because I myself am too small to be noticed from afar." Kopatych gets angry and asks him not to do it again. That night, Hedgehog and Krosh ponder: "Perhaps, on other planets, someone looks at the sky and thinks it's empty." Then Pin launches a rocket into space with a satellite inside, a photograph of all the Smeshariki and the message: "We are here!"

Tigers don't eat butterflies!"

Living Clock: Krosh, Hedgehog, and Nyusha want to go to the beach and wake up Barash, who spent the whole night writing poetry without getting enough sleep. On the way, they meet Sovunya (a lark's daily routine) and the sleeping Kar-Karych. He explains that everyone has a different "living clock": some are lark, some are owls. The friends stop being angry with Barash. While they play on the beach, he sleeps, and wakes up only in the evening when the others are already tired and want to sleep. Barash calls them to play, but they fall asleep listening to his poems.
This sweet word, honey: Kopatych ate too much honey and felt ill. His friends try to protect him from this delicacy: They lock the honey in a barn and quarantine Kopatych himself. He escapes with Barash, grabs a barrel of honey, and after a sip, feels ill again. Barash runs to the other Smeshariki for help. All ends well.
Play, Harmony!: Barash seeks harmony for inspiration. Krosh, Hedgehog, and Kopatych try to help, but in vain. In despair, Barash throws himself off a cliff into the sea; the water is knee-deep. That's when inspiration strikes: He composes a poem ("Night, peace, moon, water") and rejoices while his tired friends watch him. Moral: Inspiration comes unexpectedly.
Talisman: Barash wants to fly in a hot air balloon with Krosh and Hedgehog, but he's afraid of heights. Owl gives him a "talisman"—an ordinary button. Because of Barash's carelessness, the balloon spins out of control and flies into the mountains. Overcoming his fear, he opens the valve, and the friends descend, albeit harshly. In the end, Barash faints.
A scary story for Nyusha: Nyusha, Krosh, and Hedgehog are sitting by the fire, telling scary stories. Impressionable Nyusha is the most frightened of all by the creepy stories. Krosh decides to play a prank on Nyusha and concocts a creepy legend about the Black Lovelace, a mysterious man in a black mask. According to Krosh, he worked in a circus with a black dome and never took off his mask. The Lovelace had a magical ability: as soon as he took off his mask and started playing the guitar, all the women around him instantly lost their minds. At first, Nyusha is genuinely frightened by this ridiculous horror story. However, later, she unexpectedly runs into him. Everything ends well.

The scientist conducts an experiment with a carousel and magnet halves; afterward, the friends make up, and the lost can of carrot juice is also magnetized to Krosh.
Secret Society: Hedgehog and Krosh create a secret society of "little secrets"—things buried in the ground like little mysteries. Barash learns about it, joins, and diligently buries many objects, but doesn't understand the point. In the end, Hedgehog explains: "Pleasure is in the feeling of mystery (Only those initiated know what's buried there)." Barash asks in surprise, "And... that's it?" His friends reply, "That's it. Just shh!"
Mountains and Candy: Nyusha agrees to go swinging with Barash to look at the mountains only for candy. He brings sweets, but their abundance makes Nyusha ill. Sovunya forbids her from eating candy for two weeks. When Barash runs out of candy, Nyusha shares hers. Finally, Barash invites Nyusha on a walk with flowers and candy, and she agrees unconditionally.
What everyone needs: Krosh first convinces everyone that everyone needs nails, and then breaks Hedgehog's chair. Then he gets excited about the idea of Hedgehog's pyramid and starts actively selling it to the other Smeshariki. That evening, at the presentation, Hedgehog announces that he broke the pyramid. Disappointed customers leave. Krosh decides to promote nails again: After all, everyone definitely needs them.
Triumph of Reason: Losyash tells Nyusha how, in his youth, he lost a fight for the heart of a female moose because of his small antlers and therefore devoted himself to science for the sake of the Nobel Prize, "Triumph of Reason." Suddenly, he learns that the prize was awarded to him. His friends help Losyash prepare for the ceremony and craft enormous antlers, but they fall off along with his real antlers. Disappointed, Losyash refuses to go, and then realizes: Applause isn't that important; the prize can be received by mail. In the end, he plays a computer game and says: "True friends love you without achievements or awards."

The door and windows are made of bamboo. Nearby is a porch with a decorative bonsai tree and a bamboo ladder. Inside, there are posters, speakers, an MP3 player, a small ladder, and a bamboo rug. The house is built from bamboo that Pandy brought with her in a pot. Overnight, the bamboo grew into a grove, and the Smeshariki used it for construction.
Houses:
Kopatych's House: Next to the garden and well. Description: A wooden hut with a thatched roof, a pumpkin hanging above the door. At the back of the house is an extension for honey barrels and tools. A fence surrounds the property, and a wooden toilet stall is nearby. (Inside the house there is a stove, table, benches, a bed, an attic, and a cellar.) (A secret underground shelter, the entrance to which is hidden under a metal pipe.)
Krosh's House: Description: A bright two-story building with multicolored walls (blue, green, pink, orange). There are two entrances: one at the bottom and one at the top, connected by a wooden spiral staircase without railings. The roof is shaped like rabbit ears, one of which has a carrot-shaped weather vane attached to it. Next to the top entrance is a small balcony. Inside, there are two rooms: a living room (with a bed, a toy train set, radios, and sports equipment) and a bathroom (with a sink, wardrobe, and chest). Under the house is a large basement, where Krosh stored 40 boxes of carrots.
Hedgehog's House: Location: Umorya, not far from Krosh's house. Description: A one-story mushroom-shaped building. The roof is covered with red tiles, and the building itself is beige. A sign in the shape of a pair of glasses hangs on the house. The stone porch resembles a bridge, as a river flows nearby. Next to the house is a small orchard with apple trees, pears, and the occasional carrot, surrounded by a fence. Inside, there is a collection of potted cacti, mushrooms, and shells, shelves with books, a rocking bed, and a changing area.
Houses:
Pin's House: Situated at the tip of a sandy peninsula, it's surrounded by a pier and a large hangar where Pin works and stores his tools. Behind the hangar is a dump where the penguin discards his failed inventions. The house is constructed of iron and scrap metal, resembling an artificial satellite. It's perched high above the ground and supported by several wooden poles. A lift is used to access the house and deliver supplies.
Bibi's House: In "The Big Book of Funny Circles," Bibi lives in a flying machine resembling an insect (possibly a dragonfly). The house has two large eye-windows and a propeller resembling wings. In the game "Finding Bibi," it was revealed that the character has a house on the moon. It's a very tall structure made of lunar soil. Near the entrance hangs a monitor with the inscription "Bibi. The Land of Smeshariki."
Losyash's House: Located in the east of Romashkova Valley, not far from Nyusha and Kar-Karych's houses, it's surrounded by a pine forest. Outside, it's a small forest hut, overgrown with moss. Two wooden antlers are nailed to the roof, and a book-shaped sign hangs from one of them. A chimney with a blue mug protrudes from the house. A telescope stands in the yard, with a hammock slung between it and the chimney. The house appears larger inside than it appears from the outside. It contains a library with dozens of books, scientific instruments, and a computer. There's also presumably a basement with a laboratory and showers.
Kar-Karych's House: Located in the western part of Romashkova Valley. To the west is Losyash's house, to the south is Kopatych's house, to the north is Nyusha's house, and to the northeast are the houses of Krosh and Hedgehog. The sea is located slightly to the east. The house: Blue walls are framed by Ionic columns, with a volute with curls running from one edge to the other, and a marble laurel nailed beneath it. The roof is covered with dark blue metal sheets. A white balcony with a balustrade encircles the house. There are two entrances: the main one and a spare one. Inside, the house consists of two rooms and a bathroom. The first room is the main one: it contains a fireplace, a dining table, and a piano. The second room is used as a storage room, but in some episodes, a bed is also located there.
Chamomile Valley.
Chamomile Valley (Smeshariki Country) is the fictional location where the main events of the animated series "Smeshariki" take place. It is a place with a diverse landscape, climate, and biomes where the main characters live.
Geographic location: Chamomile Valley is located in the mid-latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere. According to the screenwriter, it is located on a peninsula, but it is unknown which one, perhaps a fictional one. The valley is surrounded by sea, with numerous islands nearby. A desert lies to the northwest. High, snow-capped mountains surround the valley's north and east. The highest is Mount Snezhnaya.
Biomes and Landscape: Chamomile Valley has several biomes and landscape features: Desert in the northwest, where only cacti grow. The desert also has a jungle patch. Forests in the west, where Losyash lives, are also located, as are most of the lakes where the Smeshariki like to fish. Sandy coast in the south, where Krosh, Hedgehog, Pandy, and Pin live. Hills abound in the valley. A picturesque natural arch is located near a waterfall. Cherry blossoms grow near Sovunya's house. The soil in the valley is fertile, allowing for abundant harvests. There are streams and a lake where the Smeshariki like to fish. A spring is located near the mountains.
The climate in Romashkova Valley ranges from highland to tropical. A moderate monsoon climate prevails in the populated meadows. Summers are generally warm, sometimes even hot. The proximity of the sea creates conditions for dangerous phenomena such as tornadoes. They are not uncommon in the valley's vicinity and sometimes occur within the valley itself. Strong winds blow from the sea from time to time, reaching gale force. Despite these peculiarities, the climate is generally considered favorable.
The symbol of the Chamomile Valley is a chamomile on a blue background, which signifies friendship and mutual understanding between the Smeshariki.
The Smeshariki have connections with the outside world. For example, Kopatych exports the harvest, possibly for sale, and equipment and other items are supplied from the cities. Electricity comes from other countries; the valley has no power plants of its own.
