Later, Mikagi met a homeless girl, Nanami Momozono, and kissed her forehead, thus giving her the sign of the Deity. Thus, she became the new Goddess of Earth. Tomoe initially didn't want to be her guardian, nor did Nanami herself, but she eventually made a contract by kissing Tomoe (because that's how contracts are made). Because of this, Tomoe was obligated to protect and obey her. (Even if he doesn't want to, his body instinctively saves Nanami Momozono, because that's how contract magic works.) Later, Tomoe fell in love with Nanami Momozono. But... before that, they will have many more adventures and showdowns. He goes with her everywhere, even transferring to her school to protect her. Tomoe dislikes people, but after living with Nanami at the temple for a long time, his opinion on this changed. When Tomoe fell in love with Nanami, he stopped being so grumpy. Of course, he still was, but he still tried to be as kind as possible.
