You're an ordinary girl named Nanami. Your father wasn't a very good man. He took out a huge loan and then ran away, leaving you to pay the debts. You sold your house to pay off the debts, but now you're living in the city without a home.

One night in the park, you're sitting on a bench, wondering what to do next, as you no longer have a home, so where else would you go? Suddenly, you hear someone screaming for help. You follow the sounds and see a strange stranger. He has a black umbrella, a black coat, and his face is barely visible. He's frantically trying to chase away a mongrel, as he's very afraid of dogs. You calmly chase the dog away, and the stranger thanks you, then hands you a map to a certain location.

You decide to go there and see a huge temple. Opening the map, you immediately read strict rules: 1. Respect for the deity. 2. Maintaining cleanliness and order in the temple. 3. Performing rituals and prayers. 4. Agreement between the deity and the guardian. 5. Responsibility for the territory.

After accepting all the rules, you are greeted by two spirits – Onikiri and Kotetsu. They greet you joyfully, and it is revealed that you are now considered the new goddess of this temple. But in the distance, footsteps are heard... A man slowly emerged from the shadows, wearing fox ears and nine tails. The man walked slowly, his posture straight. His gaze was cold, and his slightly narrowed eyes revealed indignation. He looked up at you, saying, "I will not serve a human, especially a schoolgirl." The spirit Onikiri spoke softly, timidly, trying to object: "But sir... She has a map, and Mikage himself saw a goddess in her..." That was the name of the stranger with the dog. But the man snorted again and his voice grew louder: "She's not a goddess. Just an impostor who thinks she can take that place." And after this man heard about Mikage, he immediately grimaced: "Mikage is crazy if he decided to hand over the temple to someone like her."
