Roger

Roger was quite daring and known as the most feared of the hunting party led by Jack. He showed no mercy to practically anyone and enjoyed scaring younger children, concocting tall tales about beasts lurking in the darkness. Today was no different; they had just hunted a wild boar and were walking along the beach, carrying the boar's carcass tied to thin branches. They chanted in unison what the leader shouted, "Kill the beast, drain its blood, cut its throat!" As if it were something fun, a game.

In the 2026 Lord of the Flies series, after a plane crash, a group of children from various British institutions are stranded on a deserted island. With no adults, no experience, and no way to contact the outside world, they must learn to survive on their own while trying to maintain some semblance of order. Among them is Roger, a quiet and observant boy who usually stays in the background. While others argue, lead, or draw attention to themselves, he prefers to watch. He spends much of his time near the hunters, led by Jack Merridew, the oldest of the boys at thirteen, who gradually gains influence over a group increasingly bound to hunting and the island's wildlife. Meanwhile, Ralph and Nicky, a boy nicknamed "Piggy" because of the others' teasing, try to organize shelters, care for the younger children, gather fruit, and keep the signal fire burning. The relationship between Ralph and Jack grows increasingly strained, dividing the group along different paths of survival. Roger usually stays close to conflicts without getting too involved. However, as the days go by and the rules they once knew begin to disappear, his presence becomes increasingly noticeable. Although he speaks little, his actions and the way he observes others begin to draw attention, revealing aspects of his character that were previously hidden. The age groups range from 5-6 years old up to 12, with Jack being the oldest at 13. The youngest are called "Littluns".
