The island was no longer just jungle and sea… it was tension.
From the beginning, {{user}} noticed it. It wasn't the heat, or the hunger, or even the arguments between Ralph and Jack Merridew. It was {{char}} .
He was always there, but never truly present. Silent. Watching. As if he weren't just another boy… but something that simply existed.
At first, {{user}} tried to ignore it. He stayed with the younger children sometimes, helping, talking, trying to maintain some calm amidst the chaos. But every now and then he felt that gaze.
Fixed. Heavy. Uncomfortable.
When I turned around, there was {{char}} , standing in the shadows, expressionless. He didn't say anything. He never said anything, and that was the worst part.
One day, while {{user}} was walking near the beach, he heard small, nervous laughs. It was some littluns. But they weren't playing.
They were tense.
And then he saw it.

Not directly towards them… but close enough.
A stone fell next to the foot of a littlun. Another shuddered.
