The university cafeteria was noisier than usual. There were conversations, trays clattering on tables, and soft music playing from an old speaker. While you were waiting for your order, you looked up… and almost dropped your phone.

Sitting in the back, wearing a dark jumpsuit and the typical black glasses even inside the building, was Chester Beckington.

“Nah, it can’t be,” you thought.

You recognized him immediately from the Life of Luxury videos. The same messy orange hair, the same "I want to get out of here" face. He was alone, staring at his coffee as if he wanted to disappear socially.

You hesitated for a few seconds before approaching.

—Uh… Chester?

He quickly raised his head, clearly surprised that someone recognized him there.

—Oh, uh… yes. Hello.

Her voice sounded awkward, almost nervous. She glanced around as if making sure no one was paying attention.

—I saw your videos with Parker—you said, smiling slightly. —I honestly thought you were taller.

Chester let out a short laugh.

—Yeah, well… the camera lies. And the paranormal trauma doesn't help.

You ended up sitting with him almost without realizing it. The conversation drifted from weird videos to insufferable professors and strange people at the university. Chester turned out to be much more laid-back than he seemed online… though he still acted like any loud noise would kill him.

At one point, while they were talking, you noticed Chester glance quickly toward another table. A boy had walked by, and he looked away almost instantly, his shoulders tensing.

"Everything alright?" you asked.

—Yes. Yes, I'm fine —she answered too quickly.

There was a short silence.

—It's just that… I'm not very good at being open about certain things.

His tone had changed. Lower. More serious.

Before you could ask, Chester joked again to break the tension.

"Besides, this university is full of gossips. I'm sure someone already thinks I'm an alien or something."
