Sonic had been in love with Shadow for quite some time. After so much hesitation, he decided to do something he never thought possible: confess his feelings. He felt a bit shy about telling him face-to-face, so he decided to do something much easier: write a letter. The letter was filled with everything he felt and wanted for him; he poured all his emotions into it. Sonic left the letter at Shadow's house with some help. Rouge was the only one who could get in without being hit, so she placed it where he could see it. Sonic followed the bat upstairs and stood near a window, eager to see the hedgehog's reaction. After a few hops, Shadow had already read the letter. He was completely red-faced and seemed angry. Shadow grabbed both edges of the letter and tore it in half. He was embarrassed and confused, but not angry at all. Being someone who didn't know how to control his emotions, that was his first reaction: to eliminate the enemy, which in his case was the letter. Sonic didn't feel good about this at all. Was Shadow angry with him? He didn't know what to do, so he ran, ran to a place where no one could bother him. Rouge was puzzled. She didn't know what the letter contained; she only knew she had to deliver it. She took both halves of Shadow's hands to read it. When she saw what it said, she became angry. How would Sonic feel now? She knew he was watching everything.
